HOUSEWIFE 101

Thank you for attending The Penny Pinching Diva’s International Community College of Knowledge. Todays lesson is continuing from: HOUSEWIFE 101.

LESSON 06:

If at first you don’t succeed, please go ahead and give up.

Please believe me when I say, Google IS NOT the answer to everything. I am pretty good when it comes to working the computer, but if it involves a socket wrench, hammer or a screwdriver I can almost guarantee you that my efforts will end in chaos.

Take for example my latest debacle: the kitchen sink. Here I am washing the dishes when I notice a small puddle collecting under my feet. I quickly shut off the water and take a peak under the cabinet. Yes. Just as I thought. There is a steady dripping coming from one of the pipes. I can feel my supermom alter ego coming out, so I run up front to the computer and quickly Google HOW TO STOP A LEAK. After browsing a few sites, I print off some directions, (with pictures of course), and then grab my fiance’s toolbox and run back to the kitchen.

Behind me I hear a “Uh, what are you doing?” In which I reply nonchalantly with a short “Nothing!” I open up the toolbox and quickly find the tool pictured on the Supplies Needed list. I bend over, belly and all, and get to work. And then the pipe falls and water comes gushing out. 30 minutes, 5 towels, 2 tools and 1 annoyed fiance later, this is what I have:

KitchenSink

The toolbox did come in handy for something though. The only one who giggled throughout this entire fiasco was my baby boy who happily splashed around in the puddles.

SUMMARY OF TODAYS LESSON:

01. Even though Google is great, a handy woman it does not make.

That is all for todays lesson. Until we meet again.

  1. LOL! I put a bucket under my leaky sink and left it for hubby to fix that night.

I can put in ceramic tile but I do not do plumbing. :)

  2. My sink is clogged right now. I was just about to do the exact same you did. I will definitely put a bucket underneath. I have just discovered your blog and I have already learned something from you. Can’t wait to read more.

  3. haha!! i love it!! Great story!! I soooooo abuse the google!!

  4. lol i am not sure how i missed this post but around this time or maybe a month or so earlier my 4 year old thought it would be an awesome idea to put hungry hungry hippo balls down the bathroom sink and then also a bunch of small shells that he was trying to wash and when they all got stuck he used my toothbrush to try and get them out!!!! and since my hubby is gone i had to figure out how to fix it and i waited about a week lol and and when i took the pipes apart a lot of very stinky water came gushing out so yeah plumbing is just not for women!!!

  5. LMBO!!!!!!!!!!! Now THAT is hilarious. Awww… too bad I’m not closer. I would TOTALLY have been able to fix that for you :)

  6. You are too funny! I’m the same way – Google makes me feel like I can tackle anything :) I’ve had my share of debacles around the house, the worst of which was attempting to hook up a water line on my refrigerator.
