MAKING MY HOME A HAVEN & CLEANING UP MY MESS!

Today is Anti-Procrastination Day at Biblical Womanhood, and I have decided that I would stop procrastinating and give my livingroom the deep cleaning that is has needed for the last two weeks. Ever since school has started here, the livingroom has kind of been the dumping ground for everyone in the family. It is the first room that everyone uses in the morning, and the last room that everyone uses at night. It is also the room that I spend the most time in during the day. I play with my youngest son in this room, I feed him and put him to sleep in this room, and I do most of my daily work in this room, so of course it has gotten a little bit out of hand. See for yourself:

Also, college has started today for me for the Fall semester, so this room will also be my schoolroom until December. (I take online classes, and the computer is located in the livingroom, so this is another reason that I spend a lot of time in the livingroom.) I am slightly embarrassed to have posted that picture. Why only slightly? Because if you have a family, and a fairly good sized one at that, I don’t think that there isn’t a room in your house that doesn’t look like this at some point in time. Or for that matter, some point in the day.

So today, I have decided to stop procrastinating, and putting this off until who knows when. So, when all of the boys are in bed tonight, I will have at it.

I hate dumping spots. They can make the whole place look a mess.

By noon my living room looks like that everyday. We get it all picked up and put away by bedtime though or it drives me nuts.

I started a new thing where each of the kids has a “job” to do. It is something simple like sweep, vacuum, wipe off table, etc. but they go a long way in helping the house stay cleaner.

Good luck with your living room.

Boy, can I relate to this!! Somedays I feel like I can’t keep my house clean for even 5 minutes. With 3 kids under 6 years of age, I don’t know anyone who can.
