ORGANIZING YOUR BLOG IDEAS

I know that there have been many days where I am sitting at the computer and a post or article idea has popped into my head. I quickly try to write the idea down before I forget it. I rifle through the papers on my desk and find a corner on one where I can transfer my idea. Some time that afternoon my mind gets side tracked and I clean off my desk only to throw away any junk pieces of paper. Later on that night when I sit down to write, that is when I realize my paper is gone right along with any remembrance of my idea.

It never fails. It happens to me on a regular basis. That is why I came up with the idea to start a blogging organizational binder. It’s a binder with all kinds of forms in it to help me organize my websites. From affiliate marketing to article ideas to a password holder, I have a form for everything.

I wouldn’t be the “penny pinching diva” if I didn’t share my forms and ideas with you. Over the next week, I will be releasing these forms to you so you can start organizing your blogs as well. The first form for you? My blog ideas chart. This is the form that I print out and fill in every time I have an idea for my blog.

It is divided up into six different sections:

  1. Date of Idea: This is where you would write down the date your idea came to you.
  2. Post Title Idea: Sometimes an idea for the title of my post comes to me right along with the idea for the post itself. This is where I write down that idea.
  3. Description: Write a brief description of your post idea right here. Make sure you write down the main points of your idea because when you refer back to it you want to remember what your idea was all about.
  4. Research: Some articles require you to do research. Just check yes or no in this box. That way when you sit down at the computer you will know that you need to look up a few facts for this article.
  5. Date Published: Once you have the post typed up and published, put the date here. It is always good to look back on the time lapse between when you came up with the idea and when you actually sat down and implemented it.
  6. Website this article is for: I write for several different websites. So if you are like me, my brainstorming comes to me in a wide array of topics. Just quickly make a note here on what website this article will fit perfectly for.

You can download my blog idea chart by clicking here. Happy brainstorming.
The next downloadable in this series will be a form for you to keep all of your affiliate marketing information organized.

geeze, i just start a draft, and change the date to something several months hence…then every time i open blogger i see that draft and at some point i get around to writing up the actual post. 90% of my posts are pre-scheduled because i write when i have time (usually several posts at once) and then just set them to publish one a day.
I’d never thought of keeping a separate organizer. Wow!
