You can celebrate Presidents’ Day with your kids by creating a deliciously fun patriotic breakfast at home. Our red, white, and blue kids’ breakfast creations are easy to make out of everyday breakfast foods. Stir up some patriotic spirit in your little ones with minimal effort on your part! Here are 4 easy ways to make regular foods patriotic:

Red, White and Blue Muffins
Using regular store-bought or homemade muffins of any type, smear a thin layer of cream cheese on the top to form the white backdrop. Then use blueberries, sliced strawberries or sliced cherries to create a face (like pictured).

Red or Blue Milk
Make a deliciously different drink to go with your patriotic breakfast. To make red or blue milk, simply add a few drops of blue or red food coloring dye to a glass of milk and stir! It will taste just like regular milk, but it sure will look interesting!

Red and White Strawberry Waffles
This breakfast is so easy to make, but packs a big punch of color and fun! To make:

  1. Cook waffles as you normally would.
  2. Remove stems from a handful of strawberries and discard.
  3. Place strawberries in the blender. Blend until they become a frothy liquid.
  4. Cut up a few additional strawberries into small slices.
  5. Pour the strawberry liquid over the top of the waffles. Then place strawberry slices on top and cover with whip cream.

Blueberry Pancake Sticks
Perfect for little hands to hold and dip into maple syrup, these blueberry pancake sticks are a cinch! To make:

  1. Mix up your regular pancake batter.
  2. Mix in 1/2 to 1 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries. (If using frozen blueberries, you’ll want to defrost, then rinse with water, before adding to batter.)
  3. Cook pancakes normally.
  4. Allow to cool slightly, then slice into pancake sticks.
