I was given the opportunity to review a beautiful sling this week and I have to say that this sling has been my saving grace. I don’t know why I haven’t been a baby wearing mother before now. When I first opened up my sling from Chic Tots I was absolutely baffled. I had no idea which part of the sling was up or down. I think I struggled with the sling for about an hour before I really got use to using it.

Babywearing-05My poor son, he was my experiment baby. I took him in and out of the sling over fifty times. I know I did. But he was a trooper. I think he thought it was a game. He giggled every time I put him in, and then took him back out. It was hilarious. At the end of the hour, it was like a work out for both my arms and my patience.

After much hard work I finally got it. My first plan of action? To use the sling outside. I didn’t want to go too far with the sling until I felt more comfortable using it, so I decided to try it out in the front yard. It was a nice cool day, and I wanted to take Junior outside for some fresh air.

What resulted was thirty minutes of pure bliss. He enjoyed being outside and being close to me just as much as I enjoyed it. It allowed me to bond with him while exploring outside. He was more comfortable with reaching out and touching things. It was great.

Babywearing-03I thought the sling would wreak havoc on my back but it didn’t. It was actually quite comfortable. Junior’s weight was distributed evenly on my shoulder. After awhile, I was so comfortable with him in the sling that I started using one of my hands to point things out to him.

Overall I am glad that I was given the opportunity by Chic Tots to review their wonderful product. It is allowing me to create a closer bond with my baby while being able to get more things done around the house.

What is my next baby wearing adventure? Going to the grocery store. Since I have only been as far as the end of the driveway I want to venture out with my sling and see how it will affect, hopefully for the better, my grocery shopping trips.

    Oh you will LOVE wearing him out. Baby Sister and I have so much fun being out and about while I am wearing her. :) Glad you are enjoying the babywearing thing.

    You look really cute and the sling looks great too. I am waiting for Cora to get big enough to wear in her sling. Of course I need to figure the sling out first!

    Thanks for the great review! I didn’t try baby wearing with my daughter, but after hearing about so many positive experiences, I really want to do it with my next child! Your son is SO CUTE!!

    These pictures are amazing, I love them! I don’t have babies, so I don’t know anything about babywearing, but it seems like a good idea. That’s cool that it’s also comfortable. I bet this would be a good baby shower gift.

    what a cute little baby! I LOVE those cheeks! I was so sad when my daughter grew out of that stage; I loved the roly-poliness of her (is that even a word?)
