I’M GETTING READY FOR GARAGE SALE SEASON

With the summer months upon me, I am preparing myself for my early Saturday morning yard sale adventures. Last year my fiance bought our then baby boy a really nice baby crib for a fraction of the cost of a brand new one. Since my family lives on a very strict budget, shopping at yard sales for our bigger purchases helps us to cut our costs really low.

Garage sales are becoming an integral part in a lot of families shopping practices as we are cutting back on spending. Looking for bargains is becoming a necessity in order for most families to stretch their dollars as far as they will go. Garage sales are a major benefit to frugal families because they are the ultimate bargain hunting experience.

I have recently found a new website that may make my foray in yard sales this summer a lot easier. Garage Sales Tracker is a free source that makes it easier for users to find, and list, a garage sale at one central website. If you are hosting a garage sale this summer Garage Sales Tracker is a great way to advertise your garage sale for free.


This garage sale website has a lot of great features for you to utilize in finding a yard sale in your area:

  • It has driving directions embedded on the sale page to make it easier for you to find out exactly where the garage sale is located.

  • If you find more then one garage sale that you would like to attend, routing from sale to sale can be done.
  • They are in the process of developing an iPhone application that will allow their visitors to see all local garage sales within their radius.
  • A directory for all flea markets and consignment shops is being put together to make this website a one stop bargain shop.
I have been visiting this website for the better part of the week and I have already found two garage sales in my area that I plan on attending.     Oh, THANK YOU. I tried to go garage sale shopping this past weekend by following the signs, but that was disastrous. I couldn't even find 1/4 of the sales. And let's face it, it's not much of a deal if you spend a fortune on gas trying to find the sale in the first place.

    I'm going to try this out this weekend to see if I can make it easier.

    Flea markets and consignment shops too? That would make my day.
