BREAST CANCER AWARENESS PARTY
Breast cancer is a disease that has affected my family. My aunt on my father’s side died from breast cancer last year. I saw first hand how breast cancer not only affects the person dealing with it, but the family and friends around them as well.
I know how important it is to be aware of your body. I perform monthly breast exams on myself as well as have them done professionally by a doctor once a year. As women, it is important that we take care of ourself by doing this simple procedure.
I have teamed up with Johnson & Johnson to throw a Johnson Body Care Cause Party to raise awareness, and funds, for breast cancer. This program is designed as an uplifting experience to raise funds for a charity that is important to eac hostess. It is a way for me to gather my friends and family together, have fun and socialize while making a simple donation. Because Johnson & Johnson feels that “every penny truly does count.”
The charity that I have chosen to donate to is called SHARE. Here is more information about SHARE:
SHARE is a thirty-one year old not for profit organization offering survivor-led support to those affected by breast or ovarian cancer to ensure that no one faces breast or ovarian cancer alone. Drawing on their own experiences, cancer survivors help others address the many emotional and practical issues that arise from a cancer diagnosis. SHARE’s services include hotlines in English and Spanish, with capacity in 12 other languages, support groups, wellness programs, educational meetings, and advocacy activities. All programs are free of charge.
Join me all next week as I highlight breast cancer survivors, as well as companies that donate a portion of their earnings to breast cancer charities. I will also give you tips on how to perform your own breast check exams as home as well, as well as share pictures from my Johnson Body Care Cause Party.

Breast cancer has affected many women in my family. I can remember my great-grandmother coming home from the hospital so sick. She wanted to be with her family in the end. You have chosen a great company to partner with on this topic.

Stesha
