CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET? THE DIVA IS UP TO SOMETHING…
First of all, I have to say that I absolutely love this picture of my baby boy. He has been teething like crazy lately and you can see his two bottom teeth really well in this picture. He’s my little chunky monkey, my beep beep, my own itty bitty wide load baby. (Isn’t it awesome all of the funny, yet whimsical, nicknames that mother’s will call their children?)
I have to say that this week has been a whirlwind of activity and tiredness. Since starting back working full time, my days now melt one into another. Although I foresee dark circles in my near future, I am providing for my family and I am actually working for a corporation that I like. Yeah, I’m not changing that for anything in the world.
I do however have some HUGE news.
The Penny Pinching Diva is getting married!
Oh yeah! Oh yeah! This Friday, October 9th to be exact. It’s a spur of the moment thing, but I always said that when it hit me and the moment felt right I would do it right then and there. And I’m doing it. I’m jumping the broom and telling my love that I love him and am willing to put all of my heart, mind, body and soul into us. I am dedicating my forever and always, the right way, to him.
So now, I have seven days to find a dress. Anyone have any suggestions? This dress is going to be the center of my black and white wedding pictures and I can’t throw on just anything. (Although yogo pants and flip flops would be fine for me, I can’t embarass the fiance soon-to-be husband.)
It feels good to say that: husband. Let it marinate for a second.
I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful weekend. Spend it with the people you love the most, and with the ones that you hold dear. I have a quicky wedding to plan (Khloe Kardashian style) and I have no idea where to begin.

Congratulations!!!! How wonderful. I have to agree with Marquita, David’s Bridal is a great place to find a wedding gown/dress. I got my dress there for $99. The bridesmaids dresses came off the clearance rack at $19 with an additional discount. The girls where able to shorten their dresses later and wear them again for other events/functions. I am sure that whatever you choose you will be beautiful. October is a great month for a wedding. My birthday and anniversary are October 11th. We are going on our sixth year.

Congrats! I know this is a big move BUT it is rewarding. My best suggestion would be to rent the dress if you find one that you like. I wish I would have thought of that…but my daughter said to keep mine as an option for her (…sure hope it lasts that long…yikes!) Have fun on the new page of life…

Congratulations! Find a dress that you love– hubby and I got married on very short notice as well (proposed on a Wednesday and we got married on Friday!) 9 years ago this December. We’ve never had any regrets–except I never got a chance to find “the dress.” When God brings the right man into your life, you just know. Enjoy, congratulations again, and GO FIND YOUR DRESS!

Then we decided to have a church wedding so I had a seamstress make a train, veil and I wore long gloves. Some of my guests thought the gown was thousands of dollars….

I am so happy for you. My husband and I had a similar wedding experience. We had my first son out of wedlock and I really wasn;t sure if this was the man I wanted to marry. I sure didn’t want to marry him just because we had a baby together. I wanted it to be more than that. But over time and us living together, God really softened my heart and I felt a peace about the whole marriage thing.
So, when my son was only 6 months old, we decided to take the plunge and go to the court house. After we did that. My family wanted to do something special for us, so we had a fun reception bash that summer. I didn’t get to have my dream wedding, walk down the aisle, or even have a real wedding dress, but looking back I know that it was meant to be.
Now my husband and I have been married for almost 5 years and we are on our 4th child. So, I guess we are doing something right. And I actually feel like God put this tremendous blessing on us because we made the decision to finally do the right thing.

Congrats. So are you having a church wedding or going to the justice of the peace. My hubby and I were dating for 10yrs when we finally decided to do it it was a monday wedding at the court house but that was almost 8yrs ago and it was great. I am happy for you I am sure your boys are excited.

Congratulations! This is a big deal. I didn’t scroll through everyone’s comments, but the one quick tip I’m going to give you is that you don’t have to necessarily think “bridal.” I’m not sure if you wanted the traditional dress, with the long train or not. There are tons of really cute dresses that are after-five gowns, or even bridesmaid dresses that can double as a chic wedding dress (just change the color!)….AND it’s cheaper than a bridal gown. You just have to think outside the box a little bit.
