You are not alone. I've even made the stupid remark to my daughter "well since your dad is not stepping up when I'm not here, I'll just put my plans on hold until you guys get older..." Are you kidding me! Did I fall and bump my head like the "little monkeys jumping on the bed"? I had to step back and evaluate what I just said. It's very easy to give ourselves the betterment of others but are we really supposed to lose our identity. I'm glad you went out and celebrated freedom w/o the guilt and was not "tardy for the party"! HA! Good for you! You are not alone. My cousins/BFFs do this once a month. We try to meet-up at a restaurant (nothing too fancy) and eat and have a drink (or too). We let loose, gossip, and just laugh. We have a group here in Pittsburgh called the Burgh Moms and they try to coordinate a gathering each month...sometimes just the girls, sometimes with the hubbies and sometimes with the whole family. Next gathering is a cookie exchange for the holidays! I've never been able to make it but it's a great way for us all to get out and relax. You look great Shynea! What a lucky girl!
