Wow, we just got notice by mail it’s time to renew our membership. This would be awesome! I love Sam’s for things like GoGurt. With 4 kids, the 8 pk from the grocery only lasts 2 days, Sam’s has the 32 count, which means less trips to the grocery store.

      Tomi says:

I can definitely relate to your GoGurt comment. I’ve got 3 boys who brown bag their lunch and love GoGurt. Here’s a tip, you may or may not use freeze ‘em and drop ‘em in their lunch bags and they unthaw by lunchtime. The boys luv ‘em.

I really enjoy shopping Sam’s and saving money. However, if your not careful, you can spend more instead of saving!

One of my favorite items that I always buy at Sam’s is the 2 loaf bread packs. I really enjoy the Sara Lee 45 calorie bread but I don’t like the price tag at my local grocery store, but at Sam’s it’s really a good deal.

      Mrs Ivory says:

Becky, I can totally relate…I usually try and stick to a budget, because eveything starts to add up, fast!

I can spend hours in there.

Oooh Sam’s Club I love shopping Whole Sale. Definitely worth it when you have a family :) I love buying snacks in BULK hehe

That’s funny your doing this giveaway because my fiance and I have been talking about joining Sam’s or Costco. With two growing boys and winter time coming along we could really use a wholesale card. It use to save my parents money on the grocery bill and that’s what we are deeply in need of right now.

      Mrs Ivory says:

      Sticky Sweet Mom,

You will be so happy with a membership. I am always comparing prices…I probablydrive my husband up the wall. I always purchase his socks, underwear and t-shirts from there.

The health and beauty section is awesome for families as well. $4.52 for a 4 pack of deodorant…who can beat that?

      Happy Shopping ;-)

    Tomi says:

I love Sam’s Club! My family brown bags and so we buy in bulk quite often. Our Sam’s Club card also comes in handy for church functions. Everyone loves their bakery and the photo cakes are tasty and inexpensive when compared to other bakeries.

    • 5.1
      Mami2jcn says:

It’s hard to find a good bakery! Thanks for the tip on the photo cakes! One of my sons is turning 5 soon and he’d love a photo cake.

    Donna says:

A Samn Club membership would allow me to shop in bulk for less than I’m paying at my local grocery stores. More product for less money is always a good thing! With winter coming up, I also like having a bit of a stockpile in case of inclement weather.

  7. 7
    Janae says:

I live down the street from Sams Club and have never used it. This will be a great incentive.

  8. 8
    Mignon says:

I love Sams and its just time to renew my membership! I use my membership for birthdays and to get food supplies for large functions. I can’t always get there but this would give me a great incentive to go over there. I have two sons and a husband in the military. Needless to say, everybody in here loves to eat. Especially my two year old. This gift card would go a LONG way. I’m tired of having to buy 3 boxes of granola bars just to get through a couple weeks.

  9. 9
    Tash says:

I love Sams! I’m a struggling divorced single mother of two and homeowner. Sams allows me to buy and cook in bulk. This saves time and money during the week as I’m able to freeze whole meals and take them out during the week as needed for quick home made meals! With homework, housework, professional work, mommy-time and everything else, its a necessity at my house!

  10. 10
    Layla says:

We were Sam’s Club members for years but let the membership lapse a few years ago. We saved a lot of money and TIME (which has a monetary value!!) on parties by buying boxes of frozen items for party food such as mini eclairs and petit fours, mini quiches, etc. and just heating or thawing them before serving.

    • 10.1
      Mami2jcn says:

Eclairs and petit fours…now you’re speaking my language! I love those little pigs in a blanket, too, for parties. Sam’s must have a great selection for group celebrations.

  11. 11
    Sarah says:

We live in a very small town, but there is a Sam’s about 20 minutes away…We would LOVE a Sam’s membership. We get the free membership day sometimes, but they tack on a 10% “service charge” – so we stopped using it! Crazy! I am a crazy-coupon clipper, but think a Sam’s club mmbership would be wonderful!

  12. 12
    Kenesha Causey says:

  17. 17

What’s great about Sam’s and other bulk discount stores is the BULK factor. Not only are you saving money but there is less product waste as well. A huge box of cereal wastes less trees and plastic then having to buy two or even three of the same thing at the grocery store.

  18. 18
    Shawn C. says:

I love to save money. I buy lots on sale!

  19. 19
    Priscils66 says:

Have not shopped at SAMS in a few months since our memebership expired so this would be a perfect time to renew.

  20. 20

Also – our Sams has fresh fruit and vegetables – for a family that is trying to eat healthy have lots and lots of healthy items on hand is defiantly a way to get there!

  21. 21

    • 21.1

  23. 23

  24. 24

I love that at Sams you don’t have to worry about bringing your coupons.

  31. 31

I would use the card to feed the family and buy pull ups and wipes in bulk to stack up and not have to worry about that. Also I would use it to help finish up with Christmas shopping and try to find little things that I could use for my wedding there!

  32. 32

Yes And they are delicious. As a matter of fact. Most of their food is good. Their deli is great. I had to buy a Princess cake for my grandbaby at the last minute and I called one night and it was ready the next day.
        Beautiful Cake.

  41. 41
    Annaly3 says:

I usually just go to Sam’s Club with my mom because she uses the guest pass, so to get of my own would be great, to me the best thing about going is when they have big bulky items on sale, it’s like love at first sight, lol.

  42. 42

So… When you say electronics does that mean like Video Games (Nintendo DS)?Because I should could snagg a few of those for Christmas!

    • 42.1
      Heather says:

Yes, they sell electronics like Wii & DS, especially around the holidays. Because these items are price fixed by the manufacturer, they aren’t usually less at Sam’s. Instead Sam’s has bundles with accessories & more games to increase the value. Still saving $, just in a different way.

  43. 43
    Shawn C. says:

I’d love to shop for great deals on video games!

  44. 44
    veronica says:

My family and I could use that Sams Club card to get a few things. We would like to get some blue ray dvds for family night, and maybe invite a couple of families to join us. I hope whoever wins it uses it to enjoy with their family!

I absolutely love Sam’s Club. I shop there with my daughter. She owns a home day care and Saqm’s has everything she needs and it gives her the convenience of one stop shopping. I shop for My Church and Sam’s has also been my one stop shopping. It has everything for business and personal

  52. 52

I would absolutely love to have a Sam’s Club membership! I’ve always wanted to go with a friend (or a couple friends/family members) and split the bill between us (splitting the food as well), especially since some of it is in HUGE quantities. I’ve always thought that would save so much money! I may have to try that if I win!! :)

  57. 57
    Mami2jcn says:

Sam’s Club seems like a good way to save money on bulk items.

We have Sam’s Club about 20 minutes from our house.

  60. 60
    April Vereb says:

I save money now by mostly using coupons and shopping the deals of the week! Sometimes I run across a really good sale and buy every one of them that’s on the shelf! There’s always going to be a time I need to just pull something off the shelf for dinner, and it’s good to stock up like that and always have something available!

    april_vereb@yahoo.com

    Mami2jcn says:

I would stock up on diapers at Sam’s Club.

    Nancy says:

I would love a Sam’s Club Membership to save when we stock up on items we use daily, like toilet paper, tissues, and so on!

  71. 71
    veronica says:

Another good idea is to stock up on some of the paper items. I noticed the more you buy the more you save!

  72. 72
    Nancy says:

I agree with Veronica that it’s great to stock up on paper items. After all, they don’t have an expiration date! If a large pack is too many for your family, you could always split a large pack with family or friends and you could both enjoy the savings!

  73. 73
    veronica says:

I also buy dvds from Sams!! I like the frozen fish, chicken, and breakfast products. We all have a fairly large window in the mornings so being able to pop something into the toaster or microwave is great. I find that buying in bulk and making it at home becomes much more reasonable than stoping at a coffee house, or WAWA.

  74. 74
    Eloise C says:

I have only been to Sam’s Club a couple of times, but with two little ones, this would definitely come in handy to stock up on some diapers, wipes and school lunch stuff for my oldest daughter! Thanks so much for the chance!

  78. 78
    veronica says:

I haven’t had a Sam’s card now for almost 2 years!!! I really do miss it and I could really use that card!

  79. 79
    Nancy says:

We, too, have had a Sam’s Club membership before but have not belonged for a number of years. I’d like to belong again!

  80. 80
    veronica says:

Wouldn’t it be nice if they would give you 12 individual months to use the card? Instead of just 12 consecutive months!

  81. 81
    Nancy says:

Veronica, the 12 Individual Months membership is a great idea for the customers! Not everyone needs “big shopping” each and every month. I wish it could happen!

  82. 82
    Freda says:

I really enjoy shopping at Samsclub and my son loves when I purchase the bag of hotwings. The items I buy usually keeps on going for two weeks which is good on the budget. This card would be a blessing at this time.

  83. 83
    Nancy says:

Freda, I agree with you. Sam’s Club such an amazing selection of affordable items like those frozen hot wings, chicken, pizza, and other entrees. You could probably plan a month of dinners from their frozen foods section alone!

  85. 85
    Freda says:

I could really use this card to stock up on a few things and renew my memebership at this.

  86. 86
    Nancy says:

It’s great to stock up, Freda! Stocking up is wonderful – just like having money in the bank! If you have a good stockpile of items you’ve gotten on sale, you only have to shop for your perishable items like milk, bread etc.

  87. 87

With this sam’s card I could make sure my family has everything they need for christmas with me going to school full time and student teaching during the day it is all on my fiance I like being able to help him so he is not so stressed.

  88. 88
    Stephanie J says:

I would love to stock up too. with 2 little ones we don’t go out to dinner much so lots of cooking/eating at home!

  89. 89
    Freda says:

I use bring my re-use-able shopping bags and help bag my items so their easier for my son and I to carry into the house like the frozen items and/or milk, etc. Buying in bulk really is idea.

  97. 97
    veronica says:

Sams sells contact lenses and eye glasses!

  98. 98
    Shawn C. says:

How is Sam’s furniture selection? I know their mattresses are great, they sell Serta!

  99. 99
    Nancy says:

Eye glasses are so expensive. It would be great to get them at Sam’s Club and save!

  100. 100
    Shawn C. says:

Yeah eyeglasses are super expensive. I just bought some for my son but would’ve loved to get them at Sam’s.

  101. 101

  103. 103
    veronica says:

The furniture selection is always good quality pieces. I’ve seen patio sets at other stores that would require a payment plan. They have options that fit all budgets.

  104. 104
    Nancy says:

Letitia, I agree that Sam’s Club would be perfect for the baby shower and birthday party shopping. It’s great to get everything from food, beverages, cake, produce, paper products, and decorations – all in one stop – and with low prices as well!

  105. 105
    veronica says:

I could really use this card because I would be able to get my contact lenses prescription renewed. Honestly, my doctors office can’t come close to beating the prices at Sams!! Really.

  106. 106

I would LOVE to have a Sam’s Club card because I do all my own baking and I’m always needing lots of flour and yeast. Sam’s has the best deals!

    Thank you!

  107. 107
    Mami2jcn says:

I’d like to see if Sam’s Club has laptops.

    • 107.1
      Cindy H. says:

Laptops! I think they do, for a good price and I also heard that they extend the warrenty! That would save money on repairs! :)

      @lifeonprint

    veronica says:

Sam’s Club sells jewelry, and they have a nice selection of dvd’s including Blue Ray.

  109. 109

  112. 112
    veronica says:

No matter who wins they will get some great items for the most reasonable prices. Most people will be having a reservation sometime within the next year. This is going to be great, I hope I win!

It seems like quite a few people are busy tonight. or else they don’t understand the savings at hand in this contest. You can get a great deal in store and it will really seem great if the card in WON!

  120. 120
    Mami2jcn says:

I’m definitely interested in the savings. I told my husband about this giveaway and he said a lot of his friends and coworkers love to shop at Sam’s Club for the savings.

I shop at Sam’s almost every week for my church and for myself. I buy the mini danish for my church breakfast served during sunday school. The members love them. They are a bargain. The in-store samples are the best!

  125. 125
    Nancy says:

If you time your visit to Sam’s Club right, all the samples can make a mini-meal or at the very least, a hearty snack! LOL!

  126. 126
    Mami2jcn says:

There’s a section on the Sam’s Club web site called “Countdown to Thanksgiving” and you can get all of your Thanksgiving supplies there. Pretty handy!

    Stephanie J says:

    I love the FREE samples!

  128. 128
    Nancy says:

Now that October is (almost) over, that section at Sam’s Club with Thanksgiving items will come in very handy for shoppers!

  129. 129
    Mami2jcn says:

With 25 days left until Thanksgiving, the Sam’s Club web site offers lots of menu planning tips.

    Mrs Ivory says:

Buying in bulk is such a great way to save money. My husband eats alot and Sam’s is a great way for us to get a ton of items for almost half the cost.
I am always stocking up on water, eggs, juice, meats, fish, olive oil, seasonings, household items, paper goods and their Genes lotion is incredible. Additionally, socks and even jockey underwear for the hubby. We are also trying for a baby and I plan to purchase baby items in bulk like diapers, wipes, etc.
I actually asked for a Sam’s gift card for my birthday, lol.
I would upgrade my current membership or go with the gift card option.

I was just checking that out. I love how it’s a virtual freezer.

  132. 132
    Mrs Ivory says:

I also love purchasing fruit from Sam’s!

I can get a crate of grapes for $5 or a bag full of gala apples or plums for $4.

If I am in any other store…I always go to Sam’s or check the price on Sam’s Club.com before I purchase because I would really disappointed if I purchase and could have saved money at Sam’s!

It might be nice to select a new menu idea from the Sam’s Club web site to use for Thanksgiving. You can start another new Sam’s Club tradition – using their menu ideas!

    Stephanie J says:

Good idea, we aren’t huge turkey people anyways

  135. 135
    Nancy says:

I love Sam’s Club fresh produce! The crate of grapes Mrs. Ivory got for $5 sounds fabulous. Grapes are such a healthy treat and you can’t beat that price!

  136. 136
    Stephanie J says:

That is a great price. That is one of the fruits my son will eat. Has anyone ever tried frozen grapes?

    • 136.1
      Cindy H. says:

Frozen grapes? I have heard of that but I have never tried them! is it like eating a popsicle? When grapes go on sale, I’m gonna have to try that! :)

      @lifeonprint

  137. 137
    Nancy says:

With a crate of grapes from Sam’s Club for only $5, you could try them out frozen solid, slightly frozen, refrigerated or room-temperature! I have heard of eating frozen grapes, but have not tried it. With Sam’s Club low prices, you could experiment and find your favorite temperature for grapes!

  138. 138
    Freda says:

I have certain items that I buy; but I’m always open to try new items at Sam’s club.

    • 138.1
      Mrs Ivory says:

I have certain items I but too Freda…

I did try a sample of a company that was there a few weeks ago…it was called The Old Mediterranean Baking Company and they were sampling several of their foccacia breads.

      It was sooooo amazing…for $13.88 I bought 3 (packages of 3), lol!!!

I purchased the ones I tasted; garlic and cheese, spinach and cheese and a red sauce one. The first 2 were great w/spaghetti! My husband made his own pizza with the red sauce one.

They were delicious but I am not sure they did well in my area because I haven’t seen them and their website is under construction.

  139. 139
    Stephanie J says:

I like that they have such a good variety and there are some items that change periodically.

  140. 140
    Nancy says:

I agree. You can always find a nice variety of regular and basic items at Sam’s Club. They always have several new items I want to try whenever we go. It’s nice to find new and interesting items when you shop!

  141. 141
    Freda says:

I want to start saving money with my family purchasing large items dividing them and splitting the total cost.

    • 141.1
      Mrs Ivory says:

Freda…I have suggested this to so many family members, but no takers. My Mom and I have a card and that’s it.

I advised my brother of the savings, etc and how we can buy in bulk and split it but I don’t know what happened.

  142. 142
    Stephanie J says:

Ya I have to be careful and not take my 2 year old down the toy aisle they have during the holidays.

  143. 143
    Nancy says:

It is always an adventure shopping with children! I appreciate the large aisles Sam’s Club has. It is easy to navigate the shopping cart to get all those great bargains!

  144. 144
    Stephanie J says:

Freda- I agree that’s a great idea to split things up. sometimes I don’t buy specific items in bulk because we would never eat all of it by the expiration date but if I split it with friends/family it would be a great deal!

  145. 145
    Nancy says:

It is easy to split up so many items at Sam’s Club to share with family or neighbors. These days so many prepared or frozen food items are in individually wrapped packages inside a large bag or box. I’d just suggest that everyone remember to share the cooking instructions also – time and temperature, etc – if it is an item than needs to be cooked! It is so mcuh fun to find bargains at Sam’s Club!

  146. 146
    Stephanie J says:

I would be the one who forgot to give them the cooking instructions and have them calling me the day they want to make it trying to figure out how!

  147. 147
    Mrs Ivory says:

I just recently purchased some bananas from there for $1.26.

We definitely have to switch it up on the fruit…the strawberries are delicious…can’t recall the price because I haven’t bought any in a while.

  148. 148
    Nancy says:

Well, if you forgot the cooking instructions, that would be one reason for friends and family to stay in touch! LOL! Actually if you regularly purchased the same bulk items at Sam’s Club to share, you could e-mail them the instructions once – and tell them to print them out in case of computer failure -and that would be it. Once and it’s done! Just another reason to shop at Sam’s Club!

  149. 149
    Mrs Ivory says:

I have to add that I don’t find myself waiting in long lines at Sam’s either…if the line gets long, an associate will usually come over and scan all your items onto your card so when you get to the register they scan it and you pay.

    That’s always nice.

  150. 150
    Stephanie J says:

I have seen them doing that before (scanning the items onto the card). I think that’s pretty cool. I am usually not in that line but that’s okay :)

  151. 151
    Mrs Ivory says:

    Good for you :-)

I usually go early in the day before the crowds.

It’s usually nice and quiet ;-)

I can look at ALL the other items I don’t need and add them to my wish list, lol!!!

  152. 152
    Nancy says:

It is so nice to see the efficient check-out system at Sam’s Club. Time is money, the old saying goes. It is nice when Sam’s Club saves its customers both time and money!

  153. 153
    Stephanie J says:

I spend way too much money at wholesale stores :) Too many good deals

  154. 154
    Suzette says:

I have been going to Sam’s club since a little girl. It’s the greatest place to shop, sample new products, and just discover new and exciting things. Sam’s club always has something going on & you can’t beat the deals there. We are a family of 5, with only 1 person working and our membership is currently due to be renewed as I speak, and winning this would make a huge difference in our household right now

  155. 155
    Mrs Ivory says:

    You are so right!

The cheapest I ever spent in Sam’s was about $11!!!

I bought the bananas, some apples and some orange juice!

I told the cashier that was the least I ever paid…she asked me did I want to spend some more, lol!

  156. 156
    Stephanie J says:

Too funny. sometimes my parents will go and eat dinner there. Probably one of the cheapest dinners

  157. 157
    Mrs Ivory says:

It would have been nice to find Sam’s when I was younger…but I know that now I can appreciate it.

  158. 158
    Stephanie J says:

the only thing I have never done is gotten a prescription filled there. Is it better priced?

  159. 159
    Mrs Ivory says:

I haven’t gotten a prescription filled either…I have no idea.

I remember finding Elizabeth Arden’s 8 hour cream (2 tubes plus the twist up) for $19.88…I live when I can find a sweet deal like that.

At the spa they wanted $20 for just the one tube.

  160. 160
    Freda says:

    I enjoy being a Sam’s Club Mom.

  161. 161
    Nancy says:

Finding a bargain is wonderful no matter when we discover it!
I am glad you’ve discovered it now, Mrs. Ivory!

  162. 162
    Stephanie J says:

My best deals are baby clothes. you can get Carters brand clothes for great deals!

  163. 163
    Mrs Ivory says:

I am looking forward to be a Sam’s Club Mom…

I have already started looking at the baby stuff on line.

Did I mention that we are “trying” to have a baby! God willing…soon we hope :-)

  164. 164
    Nancy says:

Carter’s are wonderful baby clothes. They are cute, sturdy, and long lasting! Sam’s Club carries great brands!

  165. 165
    Mrs Ivory says:

Thanks for the Carter’s baby clothing tip, ladies!

What else do Mom’s buy from Sam’s?

  166. 166
    Nancy says:

There are always a nice selection of popular books for all ages at Sam’s Club. And they are greatly discounted from the cover price!

  167. 167
    Mrs Ivory says:

    Thanks Nancy!

The books, especially the inspirational one’s and the inspirational journals make for great gifts as well.

  168. 168
    Nancy says:

I agree! If you know someone who is a reader, you are sure to find something to suit their taste in the books carried by Sam’s Club! The variety and the prices are commendable!

  169. 169
    Mrs Ivory says:

I have never bought books from there…because I have enough reading to do in my grad classes, lol!

But they do have a wide selection!

  170. 170
    Stephanie J says:

Sometimes they have good deals on diapers and they carry baby food and formula. I haven’t looked at what baby stuff they have online but they may sell furniture etc. Sometimes they will have car seats and exasaucers.

  171. 171
    Nancy says:

I’ve been there and done that, so I know you don’t have time for much extra reading! After you finish grad school, you know where to go to get up-to-the-minute inexpensive reading material! Or in the mean-time, maybe you could use a new quick-n-easy type cookbook or a 2010 calendar – they usually have attractive calendars too!

  172. 172
    Stephanie J says:

They have a good selection of magazines too!

  173. 173
    Mrs Ivory says:

Tell me about it! Maybe I will stop by in a year or 2 for some leisure reading material, lol!

I do see baby furniture online…sweet!

  174. 174
    Nancy says:

Here’s an idea for a holiday gift! If you were going to order a magazine subscription for someone for a gift, you could buy a current issue from Sam’s Club, wrap it and include a note about the subscription you bought for them that would arrive in about six weeks.

  175. 175
    Mrs Ivory says:

    Not a bad idea, Nancy!

There are so many options with Sam’s.

Sometimes I grab a sample and head over to the magazing aisle and flip through an article.

  176. 176
    Nancy says:

It’s a great idea to check out the magazine display at Sam’s Club before you buy a year’s subscription to a magazine. If you closely preview a magazine you know what to expect in the way of features, coupons, etc!

  177. 177
    Shawn C. says:

That sounds like a great idea Nancy.

  178. 178
    Stephanie J says:

I usually try to do that magazine idea! They are also nice stocking stuffers.

  179. 179
    Mrs Ivory says:

I think I might go with the inspirational books and journals for gifts this year.

I wonder what their Christmas gift sets will look like…you all are going to have me make a pit stop at Sam’s!

  180. 180
    Shawn C. says:

I really want to check out the toys at SAms. I need to shop for my kids and neices and nephews.

  181. 181
    Mrs Ivory says:

Do they have a toy aisle or is it seasonal?

I don’t normally buy toys but sometimes I see them on their action alley area as you walk down the aisle.

  182. 182
    Stephanie J says:

I know they have a big truck set because we have to make sure my son doesn’t see it!

  183. 183
    Shawn C. says:

I think the toys are seasonal primarily.

  184. 184
    Mrs Ivory says:

I see! I know that certain items are year-around but I wasn’t sure about the toys.

It seems it would be year around…what kid doesn’t always need a toy, lol!

  185. 185
    Nancy says:

They have great seasonal displays. If you go in not knowing what to buy for a gift, they have so many unique and useful things that you can find something special for almost anyone. And if you can’t decide, buy them a gift card!

  186. 186
    Stephanie J says:

I think you are right Shawn. There is one aisle of them that just appeared recently.

  187. 187
    Nancy says:

It is great for the store to keep us informed of all the newest products and trends!

  188. 188
    Mrs Ivory says:

I asked for a gift card for my birthday…I know they thought I was crazy, but it came in so handy.

  189. 189
    Shawn C. says:

I think anyone would love a gift card for a gift! They would have so much fun shopping for anything they want at sams!

  190. 190
    Nancy says:

I love gift cards to Sam’s Club! Gift cards are always great! And you know they are always the right color and size! LOL!

  191. 191
    Shawn C. says:

LOL…whenever my MIL gets me anything it is so odd…I’d LOVE a Sams giftcard instead, haha! Then I could get something I could really use!

  192. 192
    Nancy says:

Actually I think a gift card is a very thoughful gift. Unless someone knows you perfectly well – like 100% – it would be hard to get a better gift than a Sam’s Club gift card. Unless, of course, you’d been dropping some very big hints about something you wanted at Sam’s and they were clever enought to pick up on it! About your MIL’s odd gifts to you, here’s something to cheer you up. A friend of mine had a very wacky MIL who gave her a wooden spoon for Christmas – a used wooden spoon! Feel better?

  193. 193
    Stephanie J says:

they have so much stuff anyone could use a gc. You can also do gift memberships.

  194. 194
    Nancy says:

Oh, I’d love a gift membership as a present. You’d certainly think kind thoughts about that giver for an entire year (or longer)!

  195. 195
    Mrs Ivory says:

I made a list for my gift card and I also had them purchase the cutest London Fog coat…it is so sexy.

They have black (which I have), tan and red! It’s really nice…I think it was $29.88. I always get compliments when I wear it. It has a tie belt at the waist, buttons down and has a hood. It’s lightweight, but it keeps me warm :-)

  196. 196
    Nancy says:

What a great deal on the London Fog coat! Congrats on being a super shopper! I love the London Fog brand. Sam’s Club does carry excellent brands!

  197. 197
    Mrs Ivory says:

The moment I saw this coat…I knew I had to have it. I would definitely buy the other colors if finances permit.

Their clothing is of nice quality, too!

  198. 198
    Nancy says:

It pays in the long-run to buy high-quality clothing, unless – of course – it is something like a costume you will wear once or twice only. London Fog is a fabulous brand. I’ll look for them the next time I am in Sam’s Club!

  199. 199
    Stephanie J says:

I saw some coats last time we were in there. that was probably one of them!

  200. 200
    Mrs Ivory says:

It was on the end of the aisle. They are about mid-thigh length.

I don’t look through the clothing often, but I am definitely going to pay more attention!

  201. 201

Someone else mentioned contacts — I need new ones and Sam’s has very good deals!!

  202. 202
    Mrs Ivory says:

I wasn’t familiar with the London Fog brand, but I knew I liked the coat…I normally check out the socks…12 pair for $6-$8 and the yoga pants!

I can spend hours in there!

  203. 203
    Freda says:

We order pizza’s from Sam’s Club often, for birthday’s, sleepover’s or just movie night home.

  204. 204
    Mrs Ivory says:

    How are the pizza’s Freda?

I know they are huge, but taste wise!

  205. 205
    AshleyJay says:

Haha, Sam’s Club ready made birthday cakes are such a tradition in my family! Last one, October 10, and still delicious!

  206. 206
    Mrs Ivory says:

Michelle Cox, I used to wear contacts but not anymore…good luck with your finds!

  207. 207
    Stephanie J says:

I got cupcakes from Sams for my sons 1st birthday. They were yummy.

  208. 208
    Mrs Ivory says:

I have never had a cake or cupcakes from Sam’s.

I know that they are inexpensive though!!!

    • 208.1
      Heather says:

I believe the going rate is about $12 for 30 cupcakes. We do this for birthdays. We freeze about half to save for the actual birthday for our family celebration, usually our friend party is weekend before birthday. Saves $ & time to not have to make another cake for the real birthday.

  209. 209
    Nancy says:

The cakes are delicious – and very attractive, too! They are amazingly affordable!

  210. 210
    Mrs Ivory says:

Are they layer cakes or sheet cakes?

I may have to pick up one of these for a Super Bowl party next year!

  211. 211
    Freda says:

Mrs. Ivory we always order the three meat pizza, my son won’t order any different, but I like the taste. It is a rather large pizza but for growing boys they enjoy it.

  212. 212
    Shawn C. says:

Shopping at Sam’s would be great for all our football gatherings!

  213. 213
    AshleyJay says:

I know love shopping at Sam;s Club, portion sizes so big, there is always enough to last several days after an event giving you a nice break on the days after!

  214. 214
    Mrs Ivory says:

Very true! After cooking a huge meal…you can always have leftovers for a couple of days.

I may have to give that pizza a try :-)

  215. 215
    Stephanie J says:

We are so bad about eating leftovers!

  216. 216
    Nancy says:

I have a special small shelf in my refrigerator dedicated to left-overs, so that helps me use them up. With all the sauces, gravies, rice, pasta, and veggies available at Sam’s Club it is easy to turn left-overs into something “new” for other meals!

  217. 217
    Stephanie J says:

I have always wanted to try to make leftover something new. Rachel Ray is really good at trying to get you to do that.

  218. 218
    veronica says:

Goodmorning, I’ve been thinking about that Sam’s Club card all night. I started wondering if they have the picture counter anymore. I ordered all of my sons graduation pics as an invitation and everyone loved them.

  219. 219
    Stephanie J says:

The ones I have been to still have the photo lab. I love the options the have for Christmas picture/cards

  220. 220

I have to getto Sam’s all of the grest things I am reading that they have it is just amazing! I could really help my mother out with some groceries also!!!!

  221. 221
    Nancy says:

And since it is now November, it is a great time to order new picures to give to the extended family. Photos are a unique gift only you can give and it makes perfect sense to order them through Sam’s Club and save money!

  222. 222
    Stephanie J says:

You can also order them online and pick them up at the store saving lots of time!

  223. 223
    Nancy says:

Wow- I didn’t know that, Stephanie! Order your pictures online, and then just zip in and pick them up! You save time and money with Sam’s Club! Technology is great!

  224. 224
    Stephanie J says:

That’s the only way I order photos anymore. It takes too long to look at them in the store and if someone else is using the machine you have to wait. With 2 little ones I need to get in and get out of the store quickly!

  225. 225
    Nancy says:

That’s smart. I am glad that Sam’s Club has this fast photo option for busy families. Sam’s Club is really attuned to what the consumer needs, I think!

  226. 226
    Stephanie J says:

I agree Nancy with bulk shopping you can spend more time with your families and less time at the store!

  227. 227
    Mami2jcn says:

I agree, Stephanie J! If we can spend more time with our families, and less time shopping, it’s a benefit for everyone!

  228. 228
    Freda says:

I’ve ordered my 1st photo’s on-line with Sam’s Club and it was awesome to come in and just pick it up. I even purchased the Sunday paper for less than regular price at Sam’s.

  229. 229
    Stephanie J says:

I didnt know they sold the paper!

  230. 230
    Mami2jcn says:

It’s good to know you can order your photos online with Sam’s!

  231. 231
    Stephanie J says:

you can also order photo gifts, calenders and photo books!

  232. 232
    Nancy says:

Ordering useful gifts with a new photo on them are great ideas. Those would be one-of-a-kind gifts for the recipient.

  233. 233
    Mami2jcn says:

It sounds like Sam’s is a one-stop shop!

  234. 234
    Stephanie J says:

Yep it sure is, I am giving framed photos of the kids this year so I can do my enlargements at Sams!

  235. 235
    Mami2jcn says:

How about frames? Do they have a good selection at Sam’s?

  236. 236
    Nancy says:

Just a thought – be sure to date the photos on the back before you put them in the frame. It makes “remembering when” in later years much easier. (Can you tell my kids are grown?) I bet you can get some great deals on frames at Sam’s Club, if you need to buy those also!

  237. 237
    Stephanie J says:

They may have a set of frames but i haven’t looked. Maybe I should list the names too. My mom is going through some of her moms old photos and we have no idea who some of the people are!

  238. 238
    Nancy says:

I think adding the names also is fabulous! If you have ever looked at a batch of very old photographs from family, many times you may have no idea at all who you are gazing at! I know that is true for more informal photographs taken by friends or family members that I have from older family members. Although some may not be important, one may be the only family photo of Uncle What’s His Name! I bet Sam’s Club has some great photograph albums too, for those who want to get all their smaller photos together!

  239. 239
    Stephanie J says:

Speaking of old photos. My family just had slides put onto DVDs at Sams!

  240. 240
    Nancy says:

Also a great idea! What a nice modern memory for your family! The thing about technology is – it keeps moving ahead at a fast pace! I am glad to know Sam’s Club keeps up with the times!

  241. 241
    Mami2jcn says:

I wonder if Sam’s Club’s web site offers shipping to the store. I better check out their site and see.

    • 241.1
      Mrs Ivory says:

I replied down below but my answer is not clear.

Sam’s Club does not do the site-to-store like Wal-Mart!

The item ordered is shipped to your door.

  242. 242
    Nancy says:

I’m just guessing, but I bet they do. I think Walmart offers that option. Good question! Be sure to let us know the answer!

  243. 243
    Mami2jcn says:

I couldn’t find the answer in the FAQ section of the web site. I guess that’s a question to call the store about.

  244. 244
    Nancy says:

Sam’s Club has nice customer service people. I know they’ll be glad to answer any questions!

  245. 245

WoW I need to have slides added to a disc I have so many pictures I also could find me some nice photo albums at Sam’s….. So much I could do with that Sam’s club Card.

  246. 246
    Shawn C. says:

I need to get lots of photo prints made too. I could do that at Sam’s too!

  247. 247
    Nancy says:

Sam’s Club is a nice one-stop shop for the necessities of life as well as gifts. What items at Sam’s Club do you think would make a great gift and who might enjoy that gift?

(OK, Shawn C’s comment above mine was # 250. Let’s get to #500 today!. We can do it!)

  248. 248
    Shawn C. says:

I’d love to get some new books for my daughter, she loves books! Sam’s has great prices on books!

  249. 249
    Nancy says:

Sam’s Club has such a huge selection of books! There’s something for all ages and interests. They always have an up to date selection of the most popular titles, too! Books are a perfect gift!

  250. 250
    Mami2jcn says:

I homeschool my kids. I wonder if there are any children’s workbooks or activity books in the Sam’s Club book section.

Nancy–I agree with you! Let’s get to 500!

    • 250.1
      Heather says:

I’ve seen workbooks & I know people who have used them for homeschooled. I’m not sure if they are a year-round or a seasonal (Aug/Sept) item.

  251. 251
    Shawn C. says:

We bake a ton in the winter and I’d love to buy all our baking supplies at sam’s!

  252. 252
    Nancy says:

I believe that I have seen children’s workbook at Sam’s Club in the past. They might be seasonal items: at the start of the traditional school year and near the end of the traditionaj school year so kids could keep up their skills over the summer. It’s worth a look!

  253. 253
    LISA W says:

I haven’t had a Sam’s Club membership in a few years. I couldn’t justify the annual fee. However, I did always love the produce and the seasonal sales and yes, the wonderful selection of books. Thanks for the giveaway offer.

  254. 254
    Mrs Ivory says:

As far as the shipping to the store is concerned…they do no!

If you order an item or items online it is shipped to your door.

I wanted something shipped to the store once and they advised that it has to be shipped to the store.

    Hope this helps.

The cool thing is shipping is included with the price you see on the website!

  255. 255
    Nancy says:

Thanks for the information, Mrs. Ivory! It is great that the shipping is included in the price on the website!

  256. 256
    Shawn C. says:

I want to do some homeschooling with my kids too. Mainly to supplement and for my youngest to do some preschool workbooks. Hope they have the workbooks at Sam’s!

  257. 257
    Nancy says:

Here’s a hint for you if your children use workbooks. If it is something that they could do more than once- like writing numbers or letters or practicing math facts – try this. Get a clear plastic tranparency sheet like teachers use on overhead projectors and a wipe-off marker. Place the clear plastic sheet over the page and have your child write on the plastic sheet. If they make a mistake, just wipe it off the transparency. When they have mastered the concept, you can have them do their final and best work on the workbook page itself. Of course, when you buy the workbooks at Sam’s Club you save a lot! This tip might help you stretch out your use of the workbook a little bit more!

    • 257.1

This is such a grest idea never thought of it. When I go to Sam’s I will pick up a few tranparencys. I could also impliment this in my classroom next year when I am a teacher just to allow that children to practice.

  258. 258
    Stephanie J says:

That’s great that shipping is already included. I hate when I get a bunch of thing in my cart just to find out that the shipping is super high.

  259. 259
    Nancy says:

When you are using some other on-line stores, their high shipping costs out-weigh any other savings. It deflates your “happy shopper” feelings! I am glad Sam’s Club includes their shipping in the prices online. That’s fair!

  260. 260
    Stephanie J says:

Nancy- Thanks for the workbook idea with the transparency. That will work great when I am teaching my kids to write!

  261. 261
    Nancy says:

It also helps on practing math facts, counting, spelling and so on. That way you can use some of your savings to buy something else at Sam’s Club besides many, many workbooks! LOL! And we know Sam’s Club has lots of items to choose from!

  262. 262
    Mrs Ivory says:

My shipping comment was so confusing.

It is included however your items are shipped to your door and not the store.

    You are more than welcome.

  263. 263
    Shawn C. says:

That’s an awesome tip about the transparencies, Nancy! Thanks, I’ll have to do that!

  264. 264
    Mrs Ivory says:

I saved a lot of money on plastic cups…I can get 240 for $8.97 at Sam’s Club.

Me and dishes do not get along, lol!!!

  265. 265
    Stephanie J says:

Ya I really like sams selection of books they always have a wide variety. Educational to fun :)

  266. 266
    Shawn C. says:

Wow Mrs. Ivory that’s a great price on paper cups at Sam’s! Thanks for the info!

  267. 267
    Nancy says:

I agree with you, Shawn. It’s nice to know that the prices are not “shockers”. I love the way Sam’s Club clearly marks and displays their prices!

  268. 268
    Mami2jcn says:

I didn’t know the shipping was included on the price! That’s really unusual, as far as other retailers go. That’s a really great thing that Sam’s is doing!

  269. 269
    Mrs Ivory says:

I have this thing with memorizing prices…if I don’t write it down then I try to remember so I can do the math and compare.

I wish I could find my receipts so I can list everything for you ladies, lol!!!

  270. 270
    Stephanie J says:

Did you all see they have a shop n click option online? You can pick out what you want grocery wise and then pick it up in the store and they will have it all ready for you. just another way they are helping us to save time and money!

  271. 271
    Shawn C. says:

Ooh Stephanie J I love that idea of shopping online and picking it up all set to go in the store! What a timesaver!

  272. 272
    Mrs Ivory says:

Yes, I did see the shop and click.

I haven’t used it yet, but I do remember seeing a gentlemen that owned a store pick up his items.

There were carts full of soda and candy.

That is a great and convenient way to shop…

  273. 273
    Nancy says:

A while back I asked if anyone had gift ideas for shopping at Sam’s Club. Several people responded. Since I can’t think of anything more to say about shipping costs, I’ll start some gift ideas. I think that the recliner chairs Sam’s Club sometimes sells would be a great gift for anyone who is tired after working all day – and I guess that’s everyone! Talk about a one-size -fits – all gift idea!

  274. 274
    Mrs Ivory says:

Way to keep a conversation going Nancy!

    500 here we come.

Off to find some receipts so I can try and post some great Sam’s Club prices!

  275. 275
    Stephanie J says:

I really like the premade gift sets they have with candy, cookies and drink mixes. I think these range from 20-60 depending on the size. These are a good family gift with a blockbuster gift card or DVD included.

  276. 276
    Mami2jcn says:

How about a birthstone pendant for a lady in your life? Sam’s has a great selection of lovely jewelry.

  277. 277
    Nancy says:

Another idea would to buy spice sets with spices for newly-weds, recent college grads, or someone going out on their own for the first time! Even seasoned cooks (forgive my pun) need to replace their spices at regular intervals! As we all know, it takes a lot of money to set up your first kitchen. A spice set – maybe in a nice rack or holder – would be decorative in the kitchen as well as adding variety to their cooking. Who knows, the cook may kiss you when you give them this gift! When you buy that spice rack at Sam’s Club, you’re saving, too!

  278. 278
    Shawn C. says:

I agree with you Stephanie J I love the premade sets. I like to have one or two on hand in case a neighbor drops by or you need an extra hostess gift…

  279. 279
    Stephanie J says:

Thats a good idea to have them on hand. You do never know who might bring a gift by. They also have some great cookie/brownie mixes if you want to make your own gifts. I would love a moms ring with my kids birthstones, wonder if you can get those there.

    • 279.1
      Mami2jcn says:

You should check out their jewelry selection online. It looks like they have a lot of birthstone jewelry.

  280. 280
    Nancy says:

The Shop and Click option is so very handy. Just think, we all can have our own “personal shoppers” (sort of) at Sam’s Club! Easy, easy, easy!

  281. 281
    Stephanie J says:

haha I need a personal shopper! I really try and do my holiday shopping all year round picking things up when they are on sale. Another good gift idea is Sams has this Motts Apple cider pack. I think there are 5 flavors with a few packs each. Pair these with some mugs and you have some great teacher gifts!

  282. 282
    Shawn C. says:

Wow the cider and mugs sounds like perfect teacher gifts!

  283. 283
    Mrs Ivory says:

Okay so while you ladies are chatting about gifts, I am going to post some prices and items that I saved on at Sam’s.

Del Monte Green Beans (12 cans) $9.18

Corn on the Cobb (can’t remember the quantity) $5.68

    Orowheat Sandwich Thins (16ct) $4.68

The sandwich thins are 100 calories per serving (2 slices) and they are super yummy. I have used them to make sandwiches (breakfast/lunch)and as hamburger buns. They are all purposes!!!

  284. 284
    Shawn C. says:

I also would love some new serving peices, like pretty bowls, for our get togethers.

  285. 285
    Stephanie J says:

I may have to try these: Orowheat Sandwich Thins

Sometimes they will have entertaining pieces there. I do find that if you see something you like buy it because sometimes they don’t restock all the items they get different ones in.

  286. 286
    Nancy says:

That’s a great low price on the Orowheat Sandwich Thins. Have you every thought about using them for small mini pizzas – adding pizza sauce and veggies, cheese, etc? I think that would work well and would be a few less calories than making mini pizzas using English Muffins. Yeah for Sam’s low prices and great variety!

  287. 287
    Stephanie J says:

pizza is about the only thing my child will eat. I should try that, may be a little better for him.

  288. 288
    Shawn C. says:

We make mini pizzas using our breadmaker to make the dough. Its actually very easy and it is so yummy! It is also very little $$ to make, and takes just a few ingredients to make a batch of pizza dough that makes enough dough for 2-3 regular size pizzas or 12-15 minis. Fun!

  289. 289
    Nancy says:

Stephanie, I think this would be perfect for him. The bread is soft, not tough like some pizza crusts. I think the serving size would be perfect for him – one round circle “slice” or 2, depending on his age and appetite would be “just right”. Another triumph for the great products of Sam’s Club! We know you can get whatever toppings he likes best at low prices at Sam’s Club, too!

  290. 290
    Shawn C. says:

I also love to stock up on pantry meals, I always buy lots of chicken stock, pasta, beans, canned corn, canned green beans, canned tomatoes and tomato sauce….I can always make an easy meal from what I have on hand, in case the weather is bad and I don’t want to go to the store. It also saves lots of money if I am able to buy by the case.

  291. 291
    Nancy says:

Shawn you are so right! I love to cook using my stockpile in my pantry and freezer. That is exactly what I did today because our weather was cold and dreary. If case you’re sick, the weather’s bad, you are busy doing a project at work or at home – no worries! The inexpensive food items you have stockpiled from Sam’s Club will see you through many delicious meals!

  292. 292
    Shawn C. says:

i’ve thought about getting an extra freezer…I think it would save lots of money and time in the long run, I could fill it with frozen foods from Sams and be all set! I think Sam’s probably would sell the freezers at a great price, too!

  293. 293
    Stephanie J says:

I need to stockpile some more. That’s why this gift certificate would be great! When bad weather hits it will be hard to run out to the store with 2 little ones so if i have a lot on hand I can just make something from that!

  294. 294
    Shawn C. says:

Yeah, Stephanie, I love to be stocked up! My husband laughs at me sometimes because I stock up everything! LOL. But he’s not laughing when its snowing and I don’t have to send him out to get dinner! Also it saves so much money!

  295. 295
    Stephanie J says:

I agree, my hubby laughs at me for using coupons all the time or stocking up on toothbrushes. It’s great to stock up when the price is right and you have room for it. We don’t have a pantry so I have to be a little creative.

    • 295.1
      Mami2jcn says:

We end up storing non-perishable items in the garage. We should really get an extra fridge to put in the garage to stock up on items.

  296. 296
    Shawn C. says:

Ooh I just looked on sams.com and they have great prices on slow cookers. I’ve been wanting a new pretty stainless steel one! And they have them!

  297. 297
    Nancy says:

I think an extra freezer from Sam’s Club is a great idea. I have a small extra chest freezer that I fill with exceptional bargains! With energy costs so high, it is also good to get a new freezer because they are so much more efficient than very old (maybe handed-down) models. Keep an eye out for one that might be discounted extra because it is perhaps has a small scratch or tiny dent. (Who cares if it’s a freezer and hardly noticeable, right?) Good luck! We know the best deals will be at Sam’s Club!

    • 297.1
      Mami2jcn says:

When we bought our stainless steel refrigerator, it had a small dent in the door and the store gave us a discount.

  298. 298
    Stephanie J says:

That’s great. I love the one I have seen on the commercials with the lid that clips on so it’s easy to take anywhere. slow cookers are great for making no fuss meals!

  299. 299
    Nancy says:

I love my slow cooker. I am sure the new models at Sam’s Club have all the “bells and whistles”. Slow cookers are perfect anytime, but I especially love them for cooking in the fall and winter!

  300. 300
    Stephanie J says:

They are great for putting apple cider in or making hot soups. Some of the ones know are programmable!

  301. 301
    Nancy says:

The programmable slow cookers from Sam’s Club would be perfect for busy families. I am baking apples in the oven right now. That would be another perfect use for a programmable slow cooker from Sam’s Club!

  302. 302
    Stephanie J says:

sounds yummy. Pair it with a cookbook and great gift. Fix it and forget it is one of my favs.

  303. 303
    Nancy says:

Great idea, Stephanie J. If we all lived closer, I could give you all some of the baked apples in about 30 minutes! LOL! They smell delicious as they are cooking. That’s another plus when you use the slow cooker – it smells great! A slow cooker from Sam’s Club would also be a great gift for newly weds, a family with a new baby, the grandparents, or anyone who wants a hot meal already cooked at the end of the day. That’s all of us, right?

  304. 304
    Stephanie J says:

Yep, I got mine as a wedding gift 7 yrs ago! Maybe I could buy a new one. The apples would be great w some ice cream. I have heard you can put cloves, cinnamon sticks and water in a crockpot to make the house smell good during a party etc.

  305. 305
    Shawn C. says:

I’d love to buy a new slow cooker and a beautiful roast at Sam’s and make a super yummy and easy dinner! The leftovers are great in other meals and sandwiches.

  306. 306
    Stephanie J says:

I love roast in the crock pot. You can add potatoes and carrots w about an hour left.

  307. 307
    Nancy says:

Shawn, I love cook once and eat twice (or more) meals! I did that today with the bones and left over meat from a chicken I roasted. It’s our soup for dinner! Easy and inexpensive. All the meats from the meat market at Sam’s Club are lovely and the prices can’t be beat!

  308. 308
    Stephanie J says:

the rotisserie chicken they sell is great too. cheap

    • 308.1
      Heather says:

Yes it us! Whenever we shop near mealtime we pick up a rotisserie chicken & a veggie tray. Instant healthy dinner fir the price of drive-thru, with one less place to stop.

  309. 309
    Mrs Ivory says:

The extra freezer is a great idea. I wonder if Sam’s sells those too!

I don’t think I have ever used a slow cooker…is that similar to a crock pot?

  310. 310
    Stephanie J says:

I use slow cooker and crock pot as the same thing

    • 310.1
      Mami2jcn says:

I love my crock pot. Come to think of it, I haven’t made pot roast in a while. I love how the ingredients are pretty inexpensive.

  311. 311
    Nancy says:

I think Crock Pot is actually the trade-marked brand name and slow cooker is the generic name – similar to Kleenex vs facial tissue. No matter what you call them, you can get a great deal on these cookers at Sam’s Club!

    • 311.1
      Mami2jcn says:

I think you’re right. It’s like when someone says they have to “Xerox” something.

I tend to call it a crock pot. A slow cooker and a recipe book would make a great wedding present!

  312. 312
    Stephanie J says:

thanks nancy! It looks like sams has a big selection of small appliances online

  313. 313
    Freda says:

I love the rotisserie chicken from Sam’s Stephanie, I add it to salads or as the main course for dinner.

    • 313.1
      Mami2jcn says:

Hmmm…rotisserie chicken…you’re making me hungry. My kids are very picky eaters but they WILL eat rotisserie chicken. It’s nice to know Sam’s has them!

  314. 314
    Stephanie J says:

I’ve never had the chicken in salads before great idea. We bought a bunch for a church dinner once. Sometimes you have to wait awhile iyts so popular.

  315. 315
    Nancy says:

I know they must have a fabulous selection of slow cookers with all sorts of features! I have to laugh when I think of the slow cooker I got when we were first married over 30 years ago. You could not remove the liner or the electric cord and plug, so washing this electrical appliance was a real “joy”. I was always afraid I would get water in the wrong place and get zapped later on! LOL! We have advanced light years since then in small appliances! And you can get them all at Sam’s Club!

  316. 316
    Mrs Ivory says:

    Thanks for the clarification!

I need to see if Sam’s has a pre-made stew mixture that can be thrown in the crock pot.
With the weather changing this would be a great meal that could last a couple of days.

  317. 317
    Stephanie J says:

Oh man, I love that the pieces of my crock pot come out and I can put them in the dishwasher. You can also buy removable liners or them now. They probably have those at sams too!

  318. 318
    Nancy says:

Mrs. Ivory, I bet you’re right – they probably have a similar frozen mixture for stew. If not, you can do your own micture and it is almost as simple. Sam’s Club has almost everything!

  319. 319
    Stephanie J says:

I have not seen any stew but they do sell Panera brand broccoli and cheese soup!

  320. 320
    Nancy says:

Way to go Sam’s Club. Anything with the Panera name on it gets my vote!

  321. 321
    Shawn C. says:

The Panera brand broccoli and cheese soup sounds yummy! I made some from scratch earlier this week and it was yummy but more work than I’d like to do on a weekday…;)

  322. 322
    Mrs Ivory says:

Nancy, I am going to look into that in the near future.

I have to stop by Sam’s on Tuesday to get some dessert for a potluck in class.

There are only a few students (12) including the Professor…

I was thinking about the plastic container of cookies for $5 or the round bundt cake in lemon in chocolate.

Someone else is bringing dessert as well & I don’t want a ton of leftover sweets…especially after all this hard work in the gym!!!

Blessingsandfavor@gmail.com (was I supposed to do this for every comment?)

  323. 323
    Stephanie J says:

This was in the refrigerated section. I think they had some tomato bisque too (not panera brand) that I would like to try!

  324. 324
    Shawn C. says:

I also love that their slow cooker comes with a free tiny slow cooker…we have one that we’ve used for parties…we’ve melted chocolate in it and got things for the kids to dip…so yummy! We’ve also used it to make a fondue for the kids…a big hit!

  325. 325
    Stephanie J says:

that is a great bonus. We have one too and I love making fudge sauce for my cheesecake!

  326. 326
    Mrs Ivory says:

I meant the bundt cake in lemon OR chocolate.

  327. 327
    Shawn C. says:

Does anyone know if Sam’s has a good vacuum selection? I would love a new one!

  328. 328
    Stephanie J says:

I was looking at the vacumms online because I need a new one too and they all seemed a little high in price so I am thinking maybe they have a more reasonable one in the store.

  329. 329
    Nancy says:

Stephanie, we are reading each other minds. We just ate out baked apples with a dab of vanilla ice cream on top = yummy! I think the slow cookers could do just fine with cinnamon sticks, some cinnamon, orange and lemon peel, etc to make a nice scent for a party. Just make sure nobody tries to drink it – LOL! The tiny free slow cookers are so cute. I’d like to have one. It’s nice you buy a big one and get a tiny one with it at Sam’s!

  330. 330
    Shawn C. says:

Baked apples sound yummy! What’s the best apple to use for that? I’ve been wanting to make an apple crunch dessert, like a cobbler but have to find a recipe. Maybe there is a good recipe book at Sam’s for easy and yummy desserts!

  331. 331
    Stephanie J says:

I’m sure there is! I like this quick apple crisp.

    5 Granny Smith apples
1 package (9 ounces) yellow cake mix
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
    1/2 cup chopped nuts
Vanilla ice cream or thawed, frozen whipped topping (optional)

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Peel, core and slice apples. Cut apples in half. Place apples in Deep Dish Baker.
    2. Combine cake mix, sugar, cinnamon, butter and nuts in Bowl. Mix until crumbly. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples.
    3. Bake 35-40 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping, if desired.

    • 331.1
      Mami2jcn says:

Sounds delicious! I’ll be hosting Thanksgiving this year for extended family and it would be great to get the menu items at Sam’s.

I think I used Gala apples tonight. Some apples are best eaten raw, others can be used either in cooking or in eating out of hand and others are usually just for cooking. I like the ones that can be eaten raw or cooked – more versatility that way! I am sure you could find some great recipe books at Sam’s. You don’t have to have a recipe for apple crunch – I can tell you how to do it.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8 by 8 inch or larger pan with cooking spray. Place about 6 layers of sliced apples ( 4 – 6 apples )in the pan; sprinkle apples with a little sugar and some cinnamon. Stir apples in pan to distribute sugar and cinnamon mixture. In a small bowl combine some oatmeal, some flour, some brown sugar (about 1/2 cup of each), cinnamon, and some butter (4 pats). Mix until mixture is crumbly. Spread mixture over sliced apples. Bake in oven about 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Enjoy!

There are recipe books for sale on the Sam’s web site under the category “cooking, food & wine”. Paula Deen and Martha Stewart cookbooks are really popular.

Nancy that sounds so yummy. Wish I could head out now to get the ingredients but Ive got 2 little ones sleeping!

    Shawn C. says:

OOh Thank you so much Nancy! I’m pretty sure I have everything on hand and will make the apple crunch tonight! Sounds so yummy!

  336. 336
    Nancy says:

Just think – it will be something to look forward to another day! There are lots of days left in autumn! I was using up some of my last brown sugar to make the baked apples. Time to stockpile again at Sam’s Club!

  337. 337
    Stephanie J says:

That is also a great snack for kids!

  338. 338
    Shawn C. says:

Ooh Stephanie thanks for the yummy recipe…I’ll have to get the right kind of apples and try your apple crisp recipe this week! Sounds yummy!

I love the frozen food especially the appetizers for parties

  340. 340
    Nancy says:

Mrs Ivory, this is a suggestion for your potluck dilemma (a number of posts above) Take some small plastic zip-closing sandwich bags and insist people take home left-overs for kids, husbands or wives, etc. Alternatively, ask you prof if there is a staff lounge or commons room where people might enjoy them. Ask the custodial staff if they’d like an evening treat. If you try those options , I bet you won’t have to take any home. Applause for your restraint after your gym workouts! Sam’s is a great place to get items for sharing!

  341. 341
    Carolyn G says:

We buy our litter there and saves tons of money

  342. 342
    Shawn C. says:

Yeah we always keep some frozen appetizers in our freezer, they come in so handy with unexpected guests! Sometimes we even use them just for us, kind of a dinner of different appetizers. The kids love it! And its easy for me! But I’d love to buy them at SAm’s instead, they’re so expensive at the regular stores!

  343. 343
    Nancy says:

Sam’s has a nice selection of supplies for all kinds of pets!

  344. 344
    Stephanie J says:

I like the frozen food section too. They have a multi pack of digorno pizzas and that’s the only kind hubby likes!

    • 344.1
      Mami2jcn says:

Digiorno pizzas are just as good or better than ordering a pizza from a restaurant, but much cheaper!

    Carolyn G says:

    I love the meat section

  346. 346
    Shawn C. says:

My kids want a dog, if we get one I’ll have to shop at Sam’s for all the supplies!

  347. 347
    Nancy says:

I think you could plan several months of meals from the selection in Sam’s Frozen and Refrigerated Foods Sections!

  348. 348

Yes I love the Frozen food section!!

    Nancy says:

Stephanie and Shawn, you were discussing vacuums a while back. I think Sam’s Club would be a wonderful place to get a great vac at a low price.

Question: Does Sam’s Club price match?

  351. 351
    Stephanie J says:

I don’t think they price match. would be awesome though!

  352. 352
    Shawn C. says:

Thanks Nancy I’ll have to see what vacuums Sam’s carries.

Great question if Sam’s price matches.

  353. 353
    Nancy says:

Well, at least with the ease of the Internet, you can research various model and features and decide what you’d like. It’s easy to compare prices between stores online now. That way you can be sure you are getting what you want at a fair price. I’m betting that SClub will have it at the best price! (They’re like that!)

  354. 354
    Shawn C. says:

I love that samsclub.com lets you know if the item you want is in stock at your nearest Sam’s club. Saves a lot of running around!

  355. 355
    Nancy says:

I am a real believer in making phone calls or checking online that products are available before I hop in the car. With gas prices these day, you don’t want to make futile shopping trips if you can avoid them. How thoughtful of Samsclub.com to make that info known to the consumers. It makes sense!

  356. 356
    Shawn C. says:

Yep gas is expensive! Does Sam’s have a gas station?

  357. 357
    Nancy says:

It seem like a logical thing for them to do, with the amount of product they would buy nation-wide. I know ours in town do not have gas pumps. Anybody else know?

  358. 358
    Mami2jcn says:

I saw the cutest little doll stroller on the Sam’s Club web site, in the toy section.

  359. 359
    Nancy says:

It is time to start thinking about toys! (Especially if you are good at hiding them away at home!)

    • 359.1
      Mami2jcn says:

I’ll admit I’m not great at hiding presents. I better get creative this year. It’s nice to stock up early and take advantage of the best sales.

  360. 360
    Shawn C. says:

I’d like to see if they have any pretty cheap coats, I like to keep extras in the car in case it gets cold unexpectedly or the kids forget a coat…but I don’t like to buy expensive ones to keep as back ups.

  361. 361
    Nancy says:

Shawn, I guess later in the season they would start to clear their coats. Here’s a thought for emergency/back up coats – would it work to buy a size up for their emergency coat and roll up the sleeves now? Then you could get at least 2 years worth of use out of their coat. Does that make sense? Sam’s should have a great coat selection now!

  362. 362
    Shawn C. says:

That’s a great idea! My kids seem to grow so fast, that would really help, buying the back up coats a size too big.

    • 362.1
      Mami2jcn says:

We tend to do a lot of hand-me-downs in our house (with 3 kids). It’s great to find deals on coats!

  363. 363
    Nancy says:

I would also do the same for jeans (roll up the bottoms), PJ’s (a little large), sweaters, T-shirts, sweat pants and sweatshirts, etc. Especially if it is an emergency/back-up pair or for just wearing at home now, it worked for us! Check out the clearance selection at the end of each season at Sam’s Club. I used to buy 1 or 2 sizes up or even more if it was basic stuff at a giveaway price!

  364. 364
    Stephanie J says:

How cute about the stroller. I would love that for my niece. I know they have some trucks in the store too!

  365. 365
    Mami2jcn says:

I just saw a Lego car on the Sam’s web site. It normally retails for $10 or $11 and Sam’s has it for $7. Definitely a savings there!

  366. 366
    Stephanie J says:

A lego car! My son would love that. They do have some great savings on items.

  367. 367
    Shawn C. says:

I definitely will check the winter clothes at Sam’s near the end of the season, maybe there’ll be great clearance prices! I love to buy a year ahead at clearance prices!

  368. 368
    Mami2jcn says:

It’s always a good idea to buy items off-season.

  369. 369
    Nancy says:

It seems all kids love Legos. I’m not surprised Sam’s has such a great price! I love the creative toys best.Be sure to get a storage box for Legos so you don’t have to step on them on the floor barefooted -ouch!

  370. 370

  374. 374
    Shawn C. says:

My son loves legos. I gotta check out the selection at Sam’s and start shopping for Christmas….but I’m not a great hider, the kids often find their toys early!

  375. 375
    Nancy says:

Have you ever thought about buying a charger and rechargeable batteries at Sam’s? That might help on costs!

  376. 376

I need to do the recharagble battery thing I would say so much money. Do they sell those at Sams?

I can’t tell if anyone answered but yes, some Sams clubs have gas.

  384. 384
    Mami2jcn says:

Yes, our local Sam’s Club has a gas station.

  385. 385
    Nancy says:

You’re the first to let us know about some Sam’s selling gas. That’s great! I’m guessing you might find the rechargeable batteries, etc at Sam’s but that is a guess!

  386. 386
    Mami2jcn says:

Yes, indeed! I just checked Sam’s web site and saw rechargeable Energizer batteries and charger there for sale.
