THE IMPORTANCE OF THE VOICE OF MOMS OF HUE

I am so honored that I was asked to help introduce the launch of the new website Mom’s Of Hue. The tagline for this website is “together we’re a movement” and I truly believe that. Being a mom of color, there aren’t many websites that are targeted to parenting our children. So many times subjects, or topics, are left off of blogs/websites because they are deemed to be too controversial. Either that or the writers/editors feel as if the subject manner wouldn’t appeal to the majority of their audience.
Who exactly are the Mom’s of Hue?
Moms of Hue, founded by Kristina Daniele and Renee J. Ross, exists to provide a forum of discussion about issues specific to Moms of Color and women and men raising children of color.
We are single, married, multiracial, stay at home, work from home, traditional working moms, and entrepreneurs.
We are a group of women from all walks of life sharing our unique views on motherhood from a perspective that is often underrepresented in the blogging world.
Moms of Hue is the forum for us to discuss issues relevant to us including politics, images in the media, schooling choices, parenting issues, etc.
In short, we are mothers of color with a lot to say about issues relevant to us including politics, images in the media, schooling choices, parenting issues, and so much more.
What is their mission?
To become the premier resource for mothers of color in the blogosphere providing insightful commentary and inspiring open dialogue.
Today the Moms of Hue is hosting the official launch party to introduce their site to the masses. The launch for this website has been a long time in the making but they wanted to celebrate it with a Twitter party! They are giving away over 30 prizes all day long. To enter just follow the conversation on twitter by searching for the #momsofhue hashtag and following @momsofhue so that you don’t miss a chance to enter to win one of their fabulous giveaways.

Thanks so much for the heads up about this great resource. I’m now following them!
Oh how exciting! I finally started using twitter today just for the very fact of their launch party. Thank you kindly. I want to follow you but for some reason it won’t let me. I’ll be back regardless though cause this mama loves a bargain and knows how to pinch a penny or 5!
