I am a HUGE fan of Swagbucks. What is Swagbucks you ask? Swagbucks is a search engine that lets you earn points just by doing searches. (Just like what you would do in Google.) Points are accumulated on a daily basis, and once you earn enough points you can cash them in at the Swagstore for some very interesting prizes. (My favorite? The Amazon gift cards.) You can also refer friends to Swagbucks and earn $1 for every $1 they earn up to $100. So not only are you earning, but you’re sharing the experience of Swagbucks with others. It’s a win-win situation.

The Swagstore is filled with a lot of different prizes that you can redeem your points for.

My favorite thus far is the Amazon gift cards that they have. Money is tight for me right now, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to indulge every once-in-awhile for things for myself. Swagbucks lets me do that because I turn my points into gift cards and then use them on Amazon.com to get me free, or cheap, items. I usually earn enough Swagbucks in one month to get me $15 worth of Amazon gift cards. That keeps my book and magazine obsession filled. Plus, I get very cheap dvd’s as well.

How do you know if you’ve won Swagbucks?

That’s really easy. If you complete a search that has won Swagbucks, you will see an image like the one to the left at the top of your page. Swagbucks will range anywhere from $5 to $50. Especially on Friday when they run a mega Swagbucks special. You don’t have to keep count of your earnings because your current Swagbucks balance will be reflected at the top, right hand corner of your search screen.

Use Swagbucks toolbar to make searching easier.

I know that I have a forgetful mind sometimes, and I use to catch myself using the default Google search bar to do all of my internet searches. Well, Swagbucks has a really nifty search bar that you can download. You can easily make this the default search bar by choosing it in your internet options. (In FireFox it’s as easy as clicking on it in your search bar drop down box.) That way by making it your default search method you will never forget to change to it when you’re doing your searches.

Swagbucks is easy to use and I suggest that you sign up for it really soon because it can make your future birthday present/Christmas shopping a lot easier on your pockets.
