HELP US ACHIEVE OUR GOAL FOR MARCH OF DIMES: MARCH FOR BABIES

I believe in supporting causes close to my heart. I love my babies and I believe that domestic violence is an awful crime that effects too many women, children and families. I have a child with developmental delays, but I have never had to experience the heartbreak of having a baby born too soon, or loosing a baby. My close friend, and contributing editor to Penny Pinching Diva, Priscilla is doing something that I wish I could do in my seventh month of pregnancy. She is marching in March of Dimes: March for Babies.

Her goal is to raise $350 and she is almost there! We have 3 days!

I want the Penny Pinching Diva family to help her raise the other $125 that she needs to meet her personal goal. You can donate as little as a $1.00 or as much as you like. Here is why this particular charity is close to her heart:

I have been blessed in my life.  I have three healthy children.  I had fairly easy pregnancies and full term babies.  Others are not as lucky as I was/am.  I know several people who have struggled through their pregnancies, had early labor and deliveries.  Sadly, I know too many families that have had to deal with the death of their babies, whether before birth or after.

I had a family member give birth at 22 weeks gestation.  Her tiny baby girl, was born, feet first into the world far too soon for her to survive.  She weighed 1lb. and was 10 3/4 inches long. She survived for 47 minutes on her own without any medical intervention.  The doctors believed that there was just no way for her to survive.  We are still wondering how long she may have lived had they tried to save her….would she still be here with us.  This year marked five years since that horrible day that her parents and the family had to endure.

The following year, her parents started walking in the March for Babies 5K event in our city.  They walked in memory of their daughter and then created a family team in her memory.  My family walks each year on Team Kaydence.  She was here for just a short time but has made quite the impression on all of us.

The March of Dimes helps to fund research for premature birth and birth defects. Eventually, we would love to see premature birth and as a result, death, become a thing of the past.  Premature birth is the leading cause of death in infants.  There are so many questions that parents face when dealing with a death of a child.

I personally don’t know the pain of losing a child.  I want to help those that have had to face that obstacle and tragedy.

This is why I try to raise money for the March of Dimes.  Every single penny goes to the organization.

I made a personal goal of $350 this year.  I am currently at $235 right now.  I would love to see that number go up.  If you are able to give even a dollar, I would be eternally grateful to you.  Our children are our future…let’s help give all babies their nine months and a happy and healthy future.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and all the members of Team Kaydence, especially Josh and Amber Plunkard, Kaydence’s parents and Jaxten, her little brother who was born 6 weeks early and with the help of March of Dimes received excellent care in the NICU.

Can we do it? Yes we can!
