As part of my month long Baby Shower Extravaganza, I have decided to showcase products that I have discovered that will make being a mommy just a little bit easier. I presented my three problems as my youngest children having too much free range in the house, helping to prevent diaper rash and keeping the nurses informed at the hospital that I’m breastfeeding. What I want to tackle now is something that I have been interested in a long time.

Problem #04. Learning how to cloth diaper.

I have been wanting to cloth diaper since the day I found out that I was pregnant. Not only did the money saving part of it catch my attention, but the fact that I’m trying to be more organic and “green” with this pregnancy made it even better. (Another plus is the fact that those diaper covers are too darn cute.) I came across a really nice company called Bambino Mio. What attracted me to them was this statement on their website:

The Bambino Mio brand is founded on the principles of quality, convenience, comfort and style. With our continuous product development we are committed to providing you with the best cotton nappies and associated products available.

Bambino Mio offers a complete nappy system suitable for babies from newborn to potty training. Our nappies are 100% cotton which means they are naturally soft, breathable and absorbent, maintaining a healthy temperature.

I’m not able to do a thorough review on this company yet, but I couldn’t wait to show you the products that they sent me to get started cloth diapering baby girl.

The sent me one of their starter kits, and already I was hooked by the cloth diaper cover that I saw through the package. The stars and the colors are just too cute.

Inside the starter kit was:

  • 3 mionappy (nappies)
  • 1 miosoft (nappy cover)
  • 50 mioliners (nappy liners)
  • 100g miofresh (nappy cleanser)

Basically, a little bit of everything that you would need to get started with cloth diapering and using Bambino Mio’s products.

I also received one of their nappy buckets and a mesh laundry bag as well.

My first impression of the Bambino Mio products was that they were very cute and durable. The nappies that I received were very thick. Because they were smooth, I’m really not sure on the absorbency of them. I can only review these products from an aesthetic point of view, so check back in a few weeks once baby girl gets here and I will post up my second review on Bambino Mio and how they performed.

I received these cloth diaper products from Bambino Mio to review, in hopes that I would provide my readers with my honest opinion on their product. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I was in no way compensated monetarily for this review.

  1. How fabulous! I cloth diapered my son for about 8 months…it was as long as I could! I probably could have longer had I heard about this product! I plan on cloth diapering my next one for longer…I love it! My mom did me!

  2. Hi, love your website. I am fairly new to cloth diapering. I do notice your statement on smoothness of the “nappies” and absorbency. Most cloth systems, cloth, hemp, terry etc need to be washed before use. Some places say up to 10x, others as few as 2x. Just do a search and you will find tons of suggestions. If you don’t pre-wash most diapers will not absorb.
