I’M PARTICIPATING IN READING MY “BIBLE IN 90 DAYS” – WANT TO JOIN ME?

I have never read my entire Bible from cover-to-cover. Not one time. I tend to have favorite books or favorite scriptures that I stick to, and I hardly venture from them unless a devotional that I’m reading directs me to a new scripture. I know that that sounds bad, but I find comfort in the beauty of the Book of Psalms. That is my favorite book of the Bible. I think it’s beautiful. I think it’s poetic. It has guided me through so many tough times in my life.

But I am limiting myself. I cannot fully grow spiritually if I never venture out of my comfort zone.

I came across an article on Mom’s Toolbox that talked about a 90 Day Challenge in which you read the Bible from cover-to-cover in 90  days. I prayed about it. For weeks it kept popping up in my thoughts. I’m accepting the challenge to read my entire Bible from July 5th thru October 2nd and I’m hoping that some of my readers would like to take part in this challenge with me. There is a downloadble reading guide that you can use to guide you on how many chapters you have to read per day to get through this challenge.

If I get enough participants, I’m thinking about starting an email newsletter that is sent out once a week with encouraging words and reminders of that weeks upcoming reading schedule. If your interested in participating, please leave a comment below so I can get an idea on what type of organization I need to do on my part.

I look forward to taking this challenge, and hopefully encouraging other women, parents, men, mothers and fathers in Christ to participate in this challenge as well.

  1. That’s awesome, Shynea. Most of the time, reading the Bible in 90 days won’t allow you to fully understand it, but it will familiarize you with it all so that when you go back and start actually studying in depth, you’ll recognize certain things that you wouldn’t otherwise know anything about. I think it’s a wonderful idea! If you need any help along the way or have any questions as you read, let me know! Also, as a tip, using an electronic Bible like eSword lets you set up customized reading plans – I’ve been using it for a couple of years and it’s an AMAZING tool. There are also a lot of commentaries you can download into it to help you “get” what you reading as you go along!

  2. Oh and for those days when you’re on the go, I use the mobile Olive Tree bible – if you have a smartphone or a regular phone that is java-enabled, it should work! That way you can read the Bible when you’re standing in a long line at Walmart or sitting at the park with the kids :) Good luck with it!

  3. I am interested in participating. I challenged myself one year to read the bible from Genesis to Revelation. I did succeed, but I am ready to reacquaint myself with God and looking for new revelations this time.

  4. Thank you!!!! I’m going to start today; just printed the guide.

    • Dear Michelle,

The challenge starts Monday, July 5th. :) This is my first time participating, so I’m really excited about talking about it with my readers. Hopefully we can keep each other motivated.

      Take care,
      Shynea

  5. YES, YES, YES!
I want to do this so much!

    • Dear Meredith,

I look forward to discussing this with you, and encouraging each other through the next 90 days. :)

      Take care,
      Shynea

  6. Hey Shynea, Hope all is well. This is such a great idea. I read scriptures here and there but, not the whole bible. Count me in. Love the challenge.

  7. I would love to join with you. I, like yourself, stick to my comfort zone in the Bible and have never read it all the way through.

    Keep me updated.

  8. Hey Shynea,

This is a great idea. I’ve always wanted to read the bible from cover to cover but i had every excuse in the book. Please count me in.

    Thanks,

    Larissa

  9. I would like to do this challenge. I like Proverbs and Psalms.

  10. I would love to join the challenge. I’ve been slacking on my Bible study recently and this sounds like the best way for me to get back on track.

  11. I’m up for the challenge!

  12. Would like to be included. I’ve probably read the entire bible over the years, but it doesn’t hurt to do it again!!!

  13. Hey Shynea, I have a busy schedule but I’m willing to try and I’m sure with some motivation we can make it thru the 90 days.

  14. Hi Shynea, I want to join in with you. I bought a guide to read the Bible in 1 year but 90 days would be fabulous as well. I am looking forward to it.

  15. I’m going to take the challenge too.

  16. Shynea, this is a great challenge for anyone. My father and niece have “The Bible in 90 Days” bible by Ted Cooper Jr. that also gives guidance within the bible for successful reading in 90 days. As another response stated, the problem is comprehending, which can be done if read in peace.

  17. I will join this challenge with you.

  18. I’m interested in participating.

  19. Count me in as I have wanted to do this but never had the motivation to start with our busy lives…so glad you have started this plan

  20. Great idea Shynea!

I would love to participate, however, I can’t download the guide. In order to print out anything from a pdf it has to come to my email as an atachment then I can save, open and print. I would ususaly go to the library but it will be closed on July 5th.

Do you have any suggestions I would really like to participate?

Maybe you can post what to read for the first couple of days…. all of this on top of what you already have on your plate.

If not i truley understand. Maybe I can play catch up at a later date….but I love the idea.

Also I ordered the Scentsy and it is fantabulous in my 2 bathrooms. Even my husband loves it and you know how men can be about that type of stuff.

Have a great day and as always thanks for all you do!

  21. I am very interested and will be joining the 90 day challenge. I like you have my favorite verses or chapters but have never been able to sit down and read the whole bible front to back. I am excited to participate and complete this goal.

  22. I will join the challenge

  23. Hi Shynea,
What a wonderful idea. I think I am going to challenge myself and our adult Sunday school class to start this 90 day study. Thank you so very much. I might even encourage my followers to do so likewise. My husband and I oversee our Adult Sunday school. If I can help you with this project, just let me know. I will be more than happy too. Blessings, Jean
