YES I’M STILL PREGNANT & SHE’S STILL IN THERE – SIGH
That’s my absolutely enormous belly at 37-38 weeks pregnant. (Because my doctor(s) still don’t know how far along I actually am.) I feel like a whale. I have even been tempted to visit my local beach, lay out on the sand, and then caption a picture on here saying “Beached Whale.” But the temperature reached 100+ degrees this weekend so I settled on staying inside under the air conditioning and relaxing on the couch.
I did think I was in labor once this weekend.
It was Saturday. I fell off of my bed and had contractions all day long. (I promise, it was a total accident. I wasn’t trying to force her out or anything. *fingers crossed* Scouts honor.) Luckily I didn’t fall on my stomach, but the contractions were so strong I was out of commission until about Sunday when my back pain eased to a dull roar and I no longer felt like someone was dragging a knife across my stomach. I know I should have probably went to the emergency room, but baby girl kept to her usual kicking so I know she’s still going strong. (And probably bracing herself inside of my stomach harder then ever. I keep imagining her head down with her arms and legs kicked out to the side of my stomach refusing stubbornly to come out.)
So my entire weekend was a bust.
I didn’t get much cleaning done on Sunday and I slept through most of my weekend starting Friday evening. Saturday is still a blur to me. I hope everyone’s weekend was a lot better than mine. This officially marks my last week of work and then I’m on maternity leave. (Not by choice though. Sitting at home waiting to give birth is going to be the most nerve wracking thing to me.)

I’m glad all’s well
She’ll be here before you know it. {I used to hate when people told me that… LOL}
I think this little mamacita officially has your temperament…stubborn, LOL!!! But strong. Rest up. I can’t wait to see her
make a long list of very important things that absolutely MUST be done before you will feel ready for the baby to be born. If she is anything like my kids she will come on the day of whatever is most important to keep you from getting it done.
Do try to get some rest and take lots of pictures of your belly to look back on in a few years with your little one.
Here are some ideas for making the time seem to pass more quickly. Can you watch some of your favorite movies or read your favorite books to make the waiting pass more quickly? Do you make any arts and crafts or scrapbook or do needlework? If you like to cook, can you prepare and freeze some entrees you can use after baby arrives? I think the key is to be quietly busy! All best wishes to you and I hope the time flies by!
In her own time. God bless you both.
Not too much longer now
Oh my goodness. I KNOW the feeling. I hope that little girl comes out soon for you! I like Nancy’s idea – being quietly busy.
DAWN
Think of things you can do before she comes and I pray that you have a safe delivery.
Good Morning Shynea, I hate to hear you had a fall. But, I am glad everything turned out ok.
Take Care,
Cynthia
I would say enjoy this time. I know easy said than done. Watch favorites, read your favorite books and just enjoy. I am glad you ok. I did squats just to see if it would help around 38 weeks. LOL
I’m so glad to hear an update! I wish I lived closer by to be around this past weekend. Praying for you and sending vibes to that precious baby girl to give Mommy a rest!
It is almost over, prayers and best wishes that all will be well with both you and the baby
I am so glad u r back! i missed cha! hit me up whn u get a chance! *Huggs*
Ugh, I hated being pregnant both times. Which is why my kids are 10 years apart. But anywho, enjoy this time while you can, because when that little bundle of joy gets here, you will be a busy woman.
