I feel like this summer has flown by so quickly. I blinked, and before I knew it it was time for me to go back-to-school shopping for my boys again. I gave birth to Baby Girl this summer, and although I have been enjoying spending every waking minute with her I can’t help but think “what would have made me enjoy my summer that much more?” That’s when the answer came to me:

My summer would have been much easier if I didn’t have to clean house.

Simply put, running after two very active toddlers all day, caring for a newborn baby, and juggling taking on side jobs while still cooking, cleaning, and playing with my kids takes out a lot of time in my day. Mainly cleaning. If I could have just delegated the cleaning out to someone else I would have gained precious hours in my day to put into spending more time with my babies.

Whether it would have been a maid service or a commercial janitorial company, cleaning is a very time consuming task that I really didn’t care for this summer. But this is only my summer wish, what’s yours?

If you could have made a “mommy summer wish” what would you have wished for?

  1. That’s a tough one. I think I would like a week completely to myself. I would clean the house from top to bottom, enjoy some quiet time, take a nap or two, and get some freelance work done so I have a little extra money to spend. My mom used to help out from time to time with my son, so I was able to have days when I could get a lot done. My sister had to go back to work after my nephew was born, so my mom is busy taking care of him instead. It is really tough not having any time to catch your breath!

  2. I agree with you on the cleaning. On the weekends I have six kids here and I just feel like I am always behind.
