WEEK FIVE OF THE BIBLE IN 90 DAYS CHALLENGE – PERSONAL UPDATE

“When you’re down to nothing, God is up to something.”
This awesome quote was left to me in a comment by my beautiful friend K.O. on one of my recent posts in which I let go of my pride. I have been struggling a lot lately on many different levels, but the only thing that hasn’t waivered is my faith and my belief that God has a better plan in store for me. I am so glad that I stumbled across the Bible in 90 Day Challenge because it has made reading the Bible a daily part of my life and that in itself has been a blessing to me.
So many times we forget to set time aside out of our day to dedicate it to spending just one-on-one time with God in study, prayer, and devotion. For a long time I would go weeks without opening my Bible to study His word, but these past four weeks has brought me closer-and-closer to Him and for that I am thankful and blessed. This challenge has made me realize that I need to focus on my online ministry for women called Mornings With Mom. I have been revamping the website and changed its tagline to “An online magazine, ministry, and meeting place for women.” I’m going to bring it back full force because I look forward to forming the bonds and friendships with the great women that came across that website to either read the articles or write for it. (If you have time, you should really read this woman’s testimony of how God has really changed and blessed her and her husband’s life in their greatest time of need.)
I feel like I have also been called to do more in ministry as well. I was recently invited to an awesome Girls Night Out event by my friend Cindy where a group of beautiful women got together to talk, eat, drink, and have fun. I was surrounded by positive women who all had a testimony and all shared how wonderful God is and the amazing things that He is doing in their lives. The day before that I came across a website called Praise and Coffee Nights and I have been inspired to start a similar thing in my city twice a month starting in September.
I have also been coming across articles and websites on starting home Bible studies and house churches. I feel like God is pulling me in a certain direction and I am going to follow His lead. I also want to start a weekly bible study in my home as well. How and when I’m not sure, but I know that signs are placed in our lives for a reason and I am excited to see where He wants me to go with this. In the bible God was worshiped in the home. Church was in the home. Families and friends connected, and worshiped, and ate meals together in the home. Churches were planted in homes.
“Greet also the church that meets in their home…” Romans 16:5a (Christian Standard Bible)
