COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 1ST, 2010

A lot has been happening around the Penny Pinching Diva website since I announced the new Community portion of it. I have had so much fun getting to know my readers through the groups, forums, and profile section. It is really a lot of fun getting to know the women (and men) who visit my website on a personal level.

November 1st launches the debut of my first online couponing class!

These women will help me work out the kinks of my lessons before I start opening the classes up to the public. They will also get a sneak peak at my newest online venture which will open within the next month or so. I’m excited to start teaching this class, and because they were so willing to help me out, I have a few surprises up my sleeve for them.

If you are a member of Penny Pinching Diva you can now chime in your two cents on some interesting forum discussions such as:

• How do you handle laundry for your family?
• How do you manage to take care of everybody?

We’re still getting started, so you can also register for a FREE account, upload a picture, and start participating in the activity stream with the other members.

I also launched a new feature called “DIVA POINTS” where you can earn points for participating on the website (see picture to the right). This is a fun way for members to earn reward points, and be rewarded, for their participation. I have teamed up with a few of my sponsors to offer giveaways throughout the months to members only, so with Christmas right around the corner this could mean potential gifts for you or a loved one.

There is also a new privacy filter on member profiles.

The information that you enter in when registering for an account is now only visible to you and the people that you friend in the community! No one will be able to see any of your information unless you feel comfortable with friending them. This protects your privacy and puts control back into your hands. I know that a few member’s were worried about their information being visible to the entire interwebs, so now I have fixed that for you.

Also, there is now Extended Profile Stats (see picture to the left). Nothing special, and nothing to ooh and aah about, but I like them. *smiles* It let’s you know how long you’ve been a member, a few other stats, and your latest update.

I have been really been busy behind the scenes to make this a one stop spot on the internet.

I am continuously working on this website and updating it with new features. I can never say this enough but Penny Pinching Diva started out being created for me, but now I do this for everyone who stops by looking for a deal, a coupon, a friend, or an ear to listen to. I have talked to many of readers on the phone, I exchanged many cards/letters through the mail, and still have one that has become my best friend who keeps me up to 2am chatting and laughing about nothing in particular on Skype. I have poured my heart out to lots of women, and have in turn been a shoulder to cry on for women who are in violent relationships that were touched by my story.
