YOU’RE FOUR MONTHS OLD & JUST AS DIVA AS YOU WANT TO BE

Dear Baby Girl,

I can’t believe that you’re four months old today. My how one month can bring about so many changes in you. You’re scooting backwards already, and if I believed in old wives tales I would be thinking that “you’re moving out of the way for another one.Regardless of your inability to act your age, you still make me smile.

I have changed your nickname from Baby Girl to “Diva” because diva-ish qualities is what you possess. You make your disatisfication be known to everyone within listening reach. (Even the ones beyond that reach can still here your frustration and cries.) You know what you want, when you want it, and how you want it. To be so young your personality is so clear to me. You’re going to be so outgoing and vocal (just like me) and you’re going to crave being the center of attention. Your face lights up when anyone talks to you.

You’re a daddy’s girl already. When I think that you have me wrapped around your finger the tightest, I look at how he runs to you when you make the slightest noise, and I know that when you get older you’ll use that to your advantage.

You’re already giggling, and cooing, and smiling, and laughing without much prompting.

You’re such a happy baby. Which leads me to believe that you’re going to be a happy toddler and hopefully a happy teen (or I could be looking too far into the future). I hardly ever hear you cry and you only whine if you’ve been left to your own vices for too long. You put yourself to sleep at night, you like playing with your teething ring, and you’re a people watcher.

Or you’re too nosey. One or the other.

You will follow someone across the room to see what they are doing. You follow people in the store with your eyes as they are walking pass, and you do this thing with your mouth like you’re trying to talk and tell me something. I could be biased, but you really are very advanced for your age. (And you’re cute to boot.)

Overall I can say that God has blessed me with a beautiful baby girl in you. You came at a time in my life where I truly thought that I was lost. You gave me that extra push that I needed, and you’re a daily reminder that miracles are real and blessings really do happen.

You make me smile Stinkin’ Mama. You really do. And I thank God everyday that he allowed me to have you.

Loving you always, Mom.
