COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HERE IN 2011

I have been pouring my heart and soul into this website for the past month. I have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure that Penny Pinching Diva loads as quickly as possible in all browsers, and that I update the blog with the best store and online deals as soon as possible. But there is still something missing and I would love to give my readers a chance to tell me exactly what that is.

I have been tossing around a few ideas of things that I could do to put a little more spunk into our little community on the web.

Some of the ideas that I have been brainstorming on are:

  • Bringing back my weekly, LIVE web show. I use to host a live web show using my webcam once a week for an hour. The show was entirely random, covering a slew of different topics, and I also incorporated giveaways, reviews, etc. It was quite fun for me to host and I really had a ball getting to know my readers more and showing y’all more of my personality.
  • Working on making the community a little more active. I LOVE the community aspect of Penny Pinching Diva. We have over 250 members and I would love to expound on that more; making the community more versatile, entertaining , and fun. We have a few groups right now that are active from time-to-time but I would love to add more and make this a one stop place on the internet for socializing, information, and a little bit of fun.
  • Adding  new, mini teaching series. Throughout the years I have ran mini online sessions on this website covering several different topics. From shopping at CVS to starting your own website.
  • Start doing my video blog (vlogs) again. It was me, in front of a camera, talking about a little bit of everything. (I even have my own YouTube channel.) I would take requests, then turn on my camcorder and record up to ten minutes of me (I know, SO exciting. *smiles*). I had how to videos, to shopping videos, to personal videos. It was variety at its finest.
  • Interviewing mompreneurs once a week. I love promoting mom owned businesses, so I use to interview a mom entrepreneur once a week showcasing her product and giving a little more insight on why, and how, she created her business.
  • Adding more product reviews and giveaways to the post rotation. I was a product reviewing diva. I use to have them on here all of the time. Some of the products were sent to me, but others I bought on my own because I was curious. I also use to host giveaways at least once a week for new products, videos, clothes, etc. You name it it was on here.
  • Rewarding active community members on a monthly basis. I have been thinking about this for several months. Right now, if you are a member of the Community, you can earn points for your activeness on the website. I want to implement a reward system that will reward members who legitimately use the website and earn points. This would be in the form of gift cards and other prizes.

So that’s where you come in!

Use the poll below to tell me what you would like to see on Penny Pinching Diva in 2011. You can vote for more than one item. This gives me an idea of the type of content that my readers want to see. I would also love your constructive feedback in the comments.

  1. Would love to have access to (Spring/Summer)travel discount codes on your website! example: waterparks, theme parks, etc.

  2. I know it wasn’t listed above, but one of the things that I love about your site are the personal posts. So even though I voted for a couple of other categories, I wanted you to know that I also vote for posts about you and the family and what you all have going on. Also, in the past you’ve done posts about new recipes you’ve tried, and I love those as well!

    • Dear KO,

I forgot all about including personal posts and recipes in the above poll but of course those are going to stay! 🙂

      Take care,
      Shynea

  3. I need to make sure I start logging in when I leave posts!

  4. Focusing on the four seasons, maybe frugal, inexpensive decorting tips. Maybe even focus on upcoming holidays too.

    • Dear Kimber,

I will definitely try to incorporate frugal decorating tips as well as upcoming holidays. 🙂

      Take care,
      Shynea
