VALENTINE’S DAY HAIRSTYLE FOR BABY GIRL
Ever since having Baby Girl I have been waiting anxoiusly for the day in which I could braid her hair. I stalked websites and blogs for months when I found out that I was having a little girl, bookmarking hairstyles along the way, so I could try them out on my little Diva. Valentine’s Day wasn’t an exception and I came up with this work of art:
I started out by parting her hair at the top in a heart and putting it in a ponytail (the right side is a little off *smiles).
I then started from the front and created two cornrows around the outside of the heart.
Here is a view of the side of her cornrows. I added little puffs on the side.
In the back, I braided the rest of her hair in a “fauxhawk”.
I love doing her hair. She isn’t the most willing subject all of the time but I love when her hair is braided up verses curly and all over the place.

So cute! I need you to come do my baby girl’s hair
What products are you using in her hair? If any?
Dear KO,
I will do a post on the products that I use on her hair very soon. I’m also working on a new website (momsofcolor.com) that will cover SO many areas on being a mom of color and raising beautiful, smart, well rounded children of color. (Sssshhhh! Don’t tell anybody. lol)
Take care,
Shynea
Too cute. I never learned how to cornrow so my daughter usually rocked rough and stuff with her afro puffs. You are a woman of many talents.
Dear Mona,
Hey lady! I have very few talents actually, I just pretend my way through the rest.
Oh believe me, she was rockin’ the afro puffs for awhile too or just a straight bush. How have you been doing lately?
Take care,
Shynea
Good mama..just trying to get myself through college and getting ready for my son to graduate high school.

you did good, i have 3 girls, 2 grown and a 10 year old and 3 boys all with a lot of hair and i can’t braid at all.
ahh!! I love it! I was just thinking the other day that I need to try to do something with Lincoln’s hair as it is getting long. I’ve never done his hair though. I used to put the cornrows in Chuckie’s hair when he was younger. I don’t think Lincoln will sit still for me to do it though!
