In the past year I have become a big online shopper. Before I knew how to work the savings online I would never order anything off of the internet. Now I order diapers, baby wipes, clothes, shoes, beauty care items, and even food from the internet. For me to be able to do this I take advantage of one pertinent thing:

Online Coupon Codes

Using coupon codes that I find online saves me an astronomical amount of money, especially when it comes to shopping for clothes for my family. I have found Gap promo codes as well as a plethora of Children’s Place promo codes that have saved me up to 75% off of my total order. One online coupon code website that I have found to be very useful is Deal Taker. Deal Taker convienantly list all of the available coupon codes for several websites online in one place.

Here are a few tips that you can use when shopping online:
  • First and foremost, make sure that you always shop with a coupon code. I don’t care what you do, or how you get one, but never do any type of online shopping without a coupon code. Whether it is for free shipping and handling or a percentage off of your total order.
  • Make your order worth your time and money. If you plan on doing any type of shopping online, then make sure that your time and your money is being well spent. Please don’t order a clothing item online for the regular price, because not only will you pay that price, but tax and shipping and handling as well. Making it much more expensive then just going to the store and physically buying it.
  • Take advantage of the free shipping specials. Make sure that you take advantage of a free shipping special if at all possible. The best way to do this is to go in on an order with a friend or two. By combining multiple orders each of you avoid having to pay the high shipping price that most online retailers tend to charge.
  • Don’t buy for just the here-and-now, buy for the future. Just as it occurs in physical stores, online stores will also clearance out their winter items when the weather starts warming up, and their summer clothes when the weather starts cooling down. Buy these clearanced items at 1-2 sizes bigger for next year’s use. Clothing items such as shirts, pants, shorts, capris, and jackets don’t go out of style.
