Today we are reading chapters 46 – 50.

I have decided that I would take 20-30 minutes out of each of my morning to dedicate to reading through the book of Psalms. I think that there is something so relaxing when putting pen to paper and writing my thoughts through this study out. So that is what I am doing. I will be starting everyday with a prayer; thanking God for the blessings that he has given me and putting my prayer request in as well. I will then proceed with my reading followed by 3-5 minutes where I mediate on His word; opening my mind and heart to the message that God wants me to receive. I then end with prayer.

God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.

Whenever we are troubled and worried, instead of turning away from God we need to turn toward Him for the strength that only He can provide.

I am my own worse enemy sometimes. I have a bad fault in me that makes me continuously try to take matters into my own hands instead of turning them over to God and leaving them with Him.

I will seek advice from everyone around me. Everyone. They can try to give me “their” right answers from “their” perspective. I’ll even try to take their advice and implement it into my life. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Depending on the outcome I’ll go seeking advice from people again.

I have to learn that NO ONE can provide answers in my times of need like God can. A listening ear, yes, but the spiritual advice and guidance that I need, no. While I am leaning on everyone around me I fail to lean on the only one who can hold the ENTIRE weight of my burdens. I need to start relying on God’s answers, and His answers alone, when I’m faced with trying times.

Dear Lord,

I know that troubling times are inevitable. I know that life will not always be easy. I know that I will have many burdens to bear. And I know that only you will be able to guide me and provide me with the strength that I need to get through them.

Lord, I’m coming to you today to thank you for being patient with me. I want to thank you for staying with me. Only You truly know what I have been through and in the end only You can provide me with the strength that I need to make it through those rough times.

Thank you for supporting me and not letting me fall.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
