“You caused me to experience many troubles and misfortunes, but You will revive me again. You will bring me up again, even from the depths of the earth.”
Psalm 71:20

Just because God allows bad things to happen to us doesn’t mean that He has forgotten or forsaken us.

My biggest fault in my walk in faith is negatively questioning God. Whenever something in my life goes wrong, no matter who or what caused it, I always get angry and ask God why. Why would He let such-n-such happen. Or why He would let so-n-so hurt me. Then I allow those questions to make me angry.

I’ll say “I give up” and “why am I changing; why when all I ever go through is pain. And that’s when it happens. Every good thing that God has ever done for me is erased by one bad thing. I let that one bad moment, instance, or person deter my faith. Psalm 73: 21-24 says:

“When I became embittered and my innermost being was wounded, I was a fool and didn’t understand; I was an unthinking animal toward You. Yet I am always with You; You hold my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel, and afterwards You will take me up in glory.”

Can I say wow?

I simply don’t understand why God puts me through test “as He is putting me through them.” I can’t see the BIGGER picture, but He can. And the ENTIRE time I was going through that negative He was there right beside me. The ENTIRE time I was angry and saying bitter things, He was there.

Who am I to question why?

Better yet, am I not contradictory of myself? I always tell my older sons that they never appreciate anything unless they had to work for it.

Can we say “a ha moment?

A ha!  How can I appreciate a blessing without working for it? I can also honestly say that out of every negative I have also experienced a positive. And the lessons that I have learned from that negative has equipped me later on in life to handle other similar situations.

“You can’t experience growth without pain.”

Every growth spurt comes with a little bit of pain. God has never forgotten me. He has always been there, right by my side.

If I am going THROUGH something it’s because God is bringing me TO something.

The next time I am faced with a trial I can’t promise that I won’t have a little negative in me. I will promise to immediately go to God in prayer and ask Him for help and guidance. As soon as i feel the “whys” slipping out I will go to Him in prayer.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.”
Proverbs 3: 5-6

Dear Father God,

I want to thank you for Your grace. Thank you so much for your patience with me. Lord I ask that you quiet my angry tongue and take away my angry spirit when I am faced with trials and situations that I cannot control. I need you to stop those spirits in their tracks as soon as You see them taking over me.

God I do not want to be the kind of person that hurts others when I am hurting. Lord I do not want to let anger consume me and take over me. I do not want these angry spirits to set me off of the course that you have placed me on.

Thank you Lord for always being with me even when I think I am alone.

Lord continue to be ever present in my life.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
