If you read my previous blog and watched my video from earlier titled “Where is God Trying to Lead Me” then you know that starting a ministry has been weighing heavy on my heart for quite some time now. I have tried my best to keep my religious views, beliefs, and opinions off of my vlog even though being a Christian is a big part of my life and how I live it. I have decided that bringing a healthy dose of religion on my blog isn’t bad and that if some of my readers don’t like these types of post then they can simply skip over them.

With that being said, I have decided to start a new mini series on my blog for 30 days!

This new mini series will follow the S.O.A.P. method (which will be explained in more detail a little further down) and I will be reading, praying, and blogging through the entire book of Psalms. I have ALWAYS thought that Psalms was the most beautiful book in the Bible. I have ALWAYS been drawn to this particular book but I have never just sat down and read it from beginning to end. So often when I find a verse of encouragement, or when I’m looking for a verse of the day, Psalms just “pops” out to me. I really love that book.

So for the next 30 days I will be studying and reading the book of Psalms and I would love for you all to join in with me.

I will try to post my daily S.O.A.P. journal entries. What is S.O.A.P. you ask?

S: Scripture: Out of the daily reading I will write down the one scripture that stands out to me; that I feel God is trying to point out to me.

O: Observation: I will apply my reading to see why God chose to make this scripture stand out to me.

A: Application: I will then take that day’s reading and that day’s scripture and figure out how I can apply it to my life.

P: Prayer: I will pray that God guides me in the right direction so that I can apply that scripture effectively to my life in the way that He sees fit.

I plan on writing this out each day, for thirty days, while I’m reading through Psalms. I will also try, if time and my children allow, to post my S.O.A.P. entries on my website so that you too may be able to reflect with me. I would love it even more if each of you would participate in the comments with your own S.O.A.P. entries. I believe whole heartedly in the scripture:

“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:20

There are 150 chapters in the Book of Psalms. Because this is a thirty day challenge I plan on reading five chapters each day for thirty days. If you have 15-20 minutes a day to devote to reading the book of Psalms with me I would love for you to join me as well. I need a positive group of women who will uplift each other in prayer, support, and encouragement. There is so much negative already that I want to make this something positive.

So join me on Monday, May 9th thru Tuesday, June 7th in my journey on reading the book of Psalms.

  10. I would love to join you. I just happened to find your page through a friend of mine. So amazing because I felt like God spoke to me last night to start by reading a book at a time in the bible. While visiting my hometown yesteday my aunt gave me one of her bibles. She said I would like this particular one. She knows I have been suffering from depression really bad. I am so glad I stumbled upon this. I love your website. I am also working on a ministry.I am taking it one step at a time.

    • Dear Leslie,

First of all, I’m glad that you have found my website. Welcome to the family! I’m glad to see that you will be joining in with the reading. It is so amazing to me how God guides us in the direction that He wants us to go in. I have been in your shoes with depression. I have had it off and on and it has only been through prayer that I have overcome it each time. I’m glad that you found my website and I hope that you continue to join in via the comments. (You can also email me anytime.)

      Take care,

  11. I hate I missed it this time around but will be on it the next time. Also do you know of an online bible study group?

    • Dear Notorious,

I will be hosting another online Bible study at the beginning of July. I just wrote a post about it and I am looking for a group of women to sign up. Leave a comment on that post if you are interested in participating. 🙂

      Take care,

  12. I saw it. Thanks!

  13. I stumbled onto your website because I was looking for binder labels. Your site is refreshing to read and thanks for the pages of labels. My binder is really coming along. The fact that you are a Christian really warmed my heart, I too am a Christian. Isn’t it wonderful to be a good steward over what God Has given us. I love your site. Looking forward to hearing from you.
