It has been almost THREE months since I have updated my website, and it literally feels like forever.

I have been SO busy. If you remember my last post I started working a job where I worked seven days a week, twelve hours a day. Well, that was a temporary job and this week was/is my last week there. It was really nice while it lasted. I met some good people and learned a new job skill, which always looks nice on a resume. I also relocated back to my hometown (which has been an adjustment in and of itself) from Florida. This has been a HUGE adjustment for me because to be honest I never really wanted to move back here.

But having to choose between the lesser of two evils, this was the lesser.

With that move came the loss of most of my possessions. Besides our clothes, I literally had to give everything up. I’m in the process of moving to my own place after living with my parents for four months and we literally have NOTHING. No furniture, no curtains, no decorations, no dishes, no blankets, sheets, or towels. Nothing.  That doesn’t bother me because with the new direction that my life is heading in, I need a fresh start.

I am really craving starting over.

What I am not craving is sleeping on the floor, blanketless, for a few weeks until I start accumulating new household items slowly but surely. *smiles* The love that I have been receiving from some of the online communities that I am a part of has been overwhelming. Immediately after announcing my “starting over point” two days later I received a house warming present in the mail consisting of a new pot and pan set, along with a baking set, because everyone knows how much I LOVE to cook.

I look forward to bringing y’all, yet again, on another new journey with me.

Over the past three years that I have had this blog I have shared many things, and this new transition will be no different. The new place that I am moving into is really nice, and I’m excited because all of the hardships that I have been through over the past year has really set me up for all of the blessings that God has had in store for me.

The babies are happy, healthy, and growing so big (as you can see).

Baby Girl is officially a one year old (exactly 13 months) and she has the personality the size of a diva, hence her new nickname Diva. She is a mess. She is beyond opinionated, so attitudey, and funny all rolled up into one rambunctious little girl. I still stare at her sometimes and can’t believe that after four boys I was blessed with a little girl. When everyone told me that raising a little girl was an entirely new ball field, I scoffed. I naively thought “this will be NOTHING compared to raising boys.” She quickly proved me wrong as she continues to work my nerves on a daily basis. *smiles* The best part is dressing her. She is a fashionista already and has left her fashion clueless mom in the dust.

Bam is about to turn three, and he has the personality of a thirty-five year old. He really amazes me on a daily basis with the things that he does, and the thoughts that come out of his mouth. He has recently resorted to getting his days and nights confused and now keeps me up until four o’clock in the morning. Next week I’ll have to spend time retraining him to NOT keep the living patterns of an owl.

Tooty my Tooty!

That little boy is AMAZING. I fall more and more in love with him everyday. Right now I’m going through separation anxiety because as parents we decided that it would be best for him to finish his pre-K schooling in Florida with the awesome program that they have down there. Everything that his doctor said he “might” not be able to do, he has proven them wrong. He is talking in complete sentences. He is learning so much on a daily basis and can recognize all of his letters, bother upper and lowercase, his numbers, his colors, and his shapes. It’s just amazing to me because at one point I thought I would never be able to carry on a conversation with my son, and now all he does is talk. God answered so many prayers for me with him.

The big boys are doing great, and I will be publishing pictures of them soon. They are now in the third and fourth grade and I am really proud at how they have been adapting to the move and the changes that we have had to go through in the last year. They still never cease to amaze me at how understanding they are. They are maturing and growing up so fast. I really do have a great bunch of kids.

Look forward to daily penny pinching and coupon saving updates again!

I’m really excited to get back into the swing of things, so I will start off slowly but surely giving you the deals that you have come to expect on my website. Please leave me a quick comment and let me know how you have been doing. I have received many emails from y’all and I apologize if I couldn’t answer each and every one of them. Exhaustion has been a constant pain in the you-know-what in my life but with me becoming a work-at-home mom again I’m making my own schedule and setting reasonable work hours.

I look forward to getting updated on YOUR lives again.

  1. Oh Shynea, I am so happy to hear that things are working out for you. As you know your family is beautiful 🙂 I am glad that you are back and I am looking forward to everything PPD will bring!

    • Dear 1stopmom,

I am SO glad that you left a comment on my blog. I am not bookmarking yours so I can keep up with you again (while I was gone, my computer crashed and I lost EVERYTHING). Thank you for the warm welcome. I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

      Take care,

  2. Oh shoot! Shynea’s back…I’m so excited! When I first got the email update, I was so surprised! I’m glad to see that you’re back on your blog, chica. I haven’t been on FB much, so I didn’t see your update about not being able to bring your stuff with you from Florida 🙁 I’ll have to take some time and go stalk your page for a few. Let me know if there’s anything that I can do to help you get on your feet. (And that’s being serious, I’m not just saying it because it sounds good). I’m glad to hear that the kids are doing good and that you’re hanging in there. Welcome back!!!

    • Dear KO,

Hey mama! It feels like it has been FOREVER since I have chatted with you (even though we BOTH have each other’s phone number, but I’m not pointing fingers *smiles*). Facebook is the only social network that I have had time for when I was working the new job, and that was only because I had the mobile version on my phone. If you want to donate bathroom items, like towels and rags, or you have a shower curtain, I’ll take it. Beggars can’t be choosers and I’m not picky anyhow. 🙂 I look forward to getting back in contact with you.

      Take care,

  3. Welcome Back! I was wondering what happened to you!

    • Dear Dawn,

I have been working my butt off for the past three months 80+ hours a week, seven days straight. It was a temp job, and now that it is over I am back to being a wahm and trying to bring my blog and design business back. For the time being I’m working with a bigger design firm to do their headers, which is good to me because headers are my fav. How have you and the babies been doing?

      Take care,

  4. Hi Shynea-
I’ve been following your blog for some time and I’m glad to know that you are getting a fresh start and moving forward. That’s what we do isn’t it? As parents and business owner’s, we have to keep learning, applying and growing.

  5. Glad things are working out for you. You have very beautiful kids!!!!

    • Dear Catalina,

Thank you so much for complimenting my babies. 🙂 I’m partial to them, even though they are a handful.

      Take care,

  6. It was so nice to see an email from you, I said to myself, “She’s back!”
I look forward to what you have to share with all of us. Take one day at a time. That’s all you can do. Take Care of yourself and your beautiful family.

    • Dear Kimber,

I am SO glad to be back. I’m looking forward into getting back into the swing of daily blogging again. I forgot how much work it is to keep up with this website. I have a few new things in the works for this website, and I’m putting the finishing touches on my eBook, so I’m taking it slow so I can put my best foot forward (I hate half doing anything).

      Take care,

  7. Good job girl.

  8. I’m sooooo glad to get an email from you. Glad you back! But I really hate that you have lost all your stuff. But remember this “All Things Happen for A Reason!” Just forward to BETTER THINGS TO COME!!! And the Kids Look GREAT!!!

  9. You can do this!! You’ve gotten this far, you can go EVEN farther!!!

  10. Glad to hear all is well with you and your family! Best wishes to you on your new start!

    • Dear Christy,

Thank you for the welcome. Yes, you really do need to start back blogging. I can’t believe that Caleb and Bam are about to be three years old next month. Boy how time flies. They are getting so big. And your baby girl? She is gorgeous. I think I’ll second that motion and encourage you to start blogging again.

      Take care,

  12. So glad you’re back!

    • Dear Mona,

Hey! It feels like years since I have heard from you. I am so glad to be back too and I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. How are you and your family doing?

  14. Hey Shynea, Welcome back you were really really missed. I always looked forward to your daily post. I’m glad to see that your family’s doing well especially that little princess. Take care and glad you are back.

  15. Hey Shynea, Glad that you are back wow, you sound like me almost just not 12 hours and 7 days. What in the world were you doing and glad that you learn a new skill. Anyway can’t wait to read your post and glad to have you back

  16. I kept checking back and checking back….and finally…Shynea is back! I’m a fan and am really excited. Working from the ground up isn’t always pleasant but you can learn some great lessons out of it (I just moved into a new state 1 year ago with no family). I wish you the best of luck and will be praying for you and your family.

  17. why hello happy that all is well with u!!!

  18. Hi there,
I was wondering where you were, and a hard drive crash took your site address along with everything else. I just happened to be looking at my YT page and your face came up in my friends list.

I understand about needing to start over; it looks like we’ll be doing the same thing next year. But I know that you have God on your side, so things will improve quickly and all your needs will be met.

I’ve locked your site in the phone now, so it won’t get lost. Are you still doing the bible study series? If so, I would really like to be a part of it.
