BRAVADO DESIGNS NURSING BRA: REVIEW & GIVEAWAY {closed}

19 August 2009 by Shynea - Editor 599 views 48 Comments

BSS BlackRecently, I had the opportunity to receive the The Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bra to review from Bravado! Designs Inc. If you watch the video where I completely detail the bra, you will learn that I am not a big fan of the sports-bra “feel” because I’m an “underwire” girl, but IF I were to need a sports-bra like style, this would definitely be a big hit for me.

It provided a great deal of support overall and is extremely comfortable and virtually undetectable underneath clothing, which is the goal of seamless bras, so this particular nursing bra totally meets the expectations in that area. This design lives up to exactly what it was purposed for: to provide the nursing mom with a bra that is comfortable, supportive, and durable with features that offer simple and convenient breast access.

The quality and durability of the Bravado brand is evident in this product – the material is soft and feels nice on the skin. I typically don’t enjoy ribbed material when it comes to fitted articles because it sometimes creates an itchy feel, but I can say this bra surprised me in that it didn’t bother me in the areas where the elastic had the ribbed texture (which were the most supportive areas as you will find in the video).

The clasps that latch and unlatch to provide access to the breast for nursing are very easy to maneuver and can be done with one hand without any problem, quickly and effortlessly. The bra’s elasticity creates a perfect fit no matter what shape or size you are. The sizing scale is very simple, which I LOVE because you choose a small, medium, large, x-large, etc and you are guaranteed that the bra you receive will form flawlessly to your body’s shape. As the Bravado website suggests, this feature makes for a wonderful gifting option since you don’t have to know a person’s exact bra size.

Overall, I was admittedly impressed with this product despite my preference for an underwire. I was elated to learn by visiting Bravado Design’s website that they actually have two underwire bra lines launching next month for ladies like me who prefer that style in a bra. On a scale of 1-10, when it comes to the perfect nursing bra, I would honestly give this particular bra a 9, taking away only for the too-high cut front between the cups which makes it impossible to wear with any type of low-cut blouse.

The company, I would have given an 8.5 simply because they had NO style available for women who prefer an underwire. Now that I know there is a product line coming out which features that style, I gladly give Bravado Designs a 10 without hesitation and would recommend their products to other nursing moms who are looking for good-quality, affordable options.

    Hi Shynea,

I think this give away is great. I need a new nursing bra because I am using safety pins to keep the cups of my nursing bras closed. The hooks on my bras are either bent or are completely gone. I had my 3rd child 13 days ago so I will be nursing for a little while longer (12 months to be exact).

I follow you on twitter and my twitter name is blessedmom365. I also follow your blog. I wish I could grab your button but I don’t have a website.

    Be Blessed :)

I am requesting this for my niece who just had a baby in June. She is a young girl, single and 23, and is trying to keep herself together as best as she can. She is nursing her baby and I am glad she chose to do this because it is the best thing for him. She is doing a very good job taking care of her child and I’d like her to have this opportunity to try the Body Silk bra. She deserves something nice and comfortable.

I really love Bravado nursing bras. I need a new one because I only have 2 and I wear them 24/7 because for some reason, 11 weeks into nursing I’m still leaking at night. So when one is dirty, I have to seriously keep the old fingers crossed that the Twins aren’t in a leaky mood!

NONE of my current nursing bras fit me correctly! I got a bit larger than anticipated and it would be LOVELY to have one that fit nicely and felt good. I love the sports bra feel and think this one sounds great. :)

I need this nursing bra because… I gave birth to my first son 19 months ago, then lost 65 lbs in 9 months before getting pregnant with my second one. I am still using the bras I used when I was pregnant with my first. My breasts have changed soo much in the past two years. my husband is out of work since June and Nursing bras aren’t as important as food :)

I have an 11 month old son and he has been exclusively breastfeed since he was born. I work full time outside of the home so I have to pump twice a day at work. At times it is challenging to stop what I am doing and pull out the pump. Whenever I think I may too busy to stop, I just think about my son’s cute little face looking up at me and smiling. The innocent, loving look he gives me always makes my heart break. I plan to continue to nurse him for as long as my milk supply allows.

I have encouraged so many of my friends to nurse their children. I have helped them clear up all of the misconceptions about the pain, the time and all the other negativity that people but into their mind. I have even gone so far as to sit with one of my friends to help her get the proper latch when she was at her wits ends.

A new nursing bra would be great because I have grown 2 cup sizes since my son was born and I only have 2 bras in my new size.

B/c I’m pregnant with #2 and bought like 8 bras while nursing #1 and hated all of them. Nothing was quite right. I’ve heard great things about bravado and they are on my short list of brands to try this time!

I need a new nursing bra because my best one has started to fall apart from excessive use and it was a free-cycle find by my sister-in-law. The only other semi-comfortable ones I’ve been able to find cheaply require me to wear pads just so I don’t show too much through my shirts and I’ve actually had to repair those ones too. I’ll be honest, I’m cheap and the last time I put out any real money for a nursing bra, I was sorely (with emphasis on sore) disappointed when I tried wearing it regularly even though it seemed okay in the store dressing room.

I so need a new nursing bra! I am nursing 2 little ones right now and I always need easy access to the breast!

(PS I think that they normally don’t have underwire because it can restrict the milk ducts and potentially cause infections.)

Wow, do I ever need a new nursing bra! I’m due with baby #2 in three weeks and all I have are the same two nursing bras I wore for TWO YEARS with my first. You can imagine how pretty those are by now.

I just had our 2nd daughter and plan to nurse her for a year like I did with her sister. Nursing bras are a God send, they make the logistics of breastfeeding much easier. I didn’t buy any new bras this time around, so the few I have are from 4 years ago, the Bravadao bra looks perfect & would be a nice treat!

I need a new nursing bra because all the ones I used with my daughter are either too small or starting to fall apart. I just had my son 2 weeks ago and need some new nursing bras that fit better.
