MY TOOTY ISN’T SUCH A LITTLE BOY ANYMORE

I haven't made an update on Tooty in a long time. So many things have happened, and now we are taking yet another stride in the direction of getting him to develop like children his age. I remember when he started pre-school for the first time back in March. I was so excited and upset at the same time because he was growing up and I didn't want him to. I knew that this would be the best thing for him, but a little of the selfish inside of me wanted to keep him all to myself.
Needless to say, he did really good in that program.
I had a meeti...

SORRY I HAVE BEEN M.I.A. – I’VE BEEN TAKING ON FREELANCE JOBS

I have received a few messages asking me if everything was okay. I apologize for being missing in action these past few days. I have been taking on quite a few freelance design and writing jobs and that has occupied a lot of my time. So much so that I wake up at 7am to get started and don't often go to bed until 1 or 2 in the morning. I have always wanted to be a WAHM (work at home mom). That is my dream and I hope to accomplish that by December 2011. I just never thought that I would have an assistant by my side constantly:
This is my Baby ...

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOTY, YOU’RE 3 YEARS OLD

My baby boy Tooty turned three years old on August 4th. He is growing up so fast.
We had a small celebration at home with just family, and then we took him to the park. The last photo is a picture of him going down the slide "just one more time" before we left to go home....

IT FEELS LIKE ONLY YESTERDAY YOU WERE BORN: A LETTER TO YOU

Dear Baby Girl,
I just blinked, maybe even dozed off for a few minutes, but it seems like time is steadily slipping away from me. It feels like only yesterday that you were inside of my stomach and I was talking to you about my life goals and the dreams I had for you. From the day that I found out that I was carrying my daughter, something inside of me blossomed and I knew from that point forward that my life would never be the same. Instead, it would only get better because you were in it. Now I look at you and I see what I want the "future m...

GOING BACK TO WORK AFTER MATERNITY LEAVE IS GOING TO BE SO HARD FOR ME

I'm a working mother. I have to be. With the way that the economy is I cannot afford to be a stay-at-home mom like I once was two years ago. I loved being at home with my babies all day. I took pride in cooking them breakfast before school, keeping my home neat (most of the time), participating in their school activities, preparing them home cooked made-from-scratch meals, and basically being a busy homebody.
I cherished the the time that I got to spend being the sole care provider for my two youngest sons.
With Baby Girl it hit me really h...

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY: THERE’S A BABY BEHIND THE BOW

I am loving the big flower bows. Baby Girl is rockin' it, I don't care if the flower is bigger than her head. *smiles*

HELP ME PICK OUT BIRTH ANNOUCEMENTS & PHOTO SHOOT PROPS

I have never bought birth announcements for any of my children, but I'm thinking that with Baby Girl I should. (I don't know what it is about this little girl but she already has me wrapped around her little finger.) I'm really excited to pick out her photo announcements because that means that she will have to have a photo shoot soon. I have decided to go with the company Tiny Prints to order her birth announcements because:
I have heard nothing but GOOD things about them, their customer service, and the quality of their products.

THE BIRTH OF BABY GIRL – 3 HOURS OF LABOR & A BEAUTIFUL BABY

I don't know what has taken me so long to write this post. It has been eleven days since I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl and I have been so absorbed with enjoying her that everything has taken a backseat. (If you stopped by right now to visit my house, I would be thoroughly embarrassed. Sort of. Then I would show you Baby Girl and you wouldn't even notice the sty I call my home.) This labor has by far been the fastest labor that I have had.
My labor began right around 11:00pm.
I had started feeling contractions about an hour before t...

BABY GIRL HAS FINALLY MADE HER DEBUT & I’M IN LOVE

I am excited to announce that Baby Girl has finally made her debut. She was born on July 7th at 2:54am. She weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 1/4 inches long. I'm SO in love with her. When we left the hospital they were still undecided on the color of her eyes. So far they have waivered between grey and a light brownish/green color and back to grey.
This was Baby Girl a few hours after she was born.
This is Baby Girl now.
I'll update a little later on this weekend with her birth story. For now, I am going to relax and enjoy her....

YES I’M STILL PREGNANT & SHE’S STILL IN THERE – SIGH

That's my absolutely enormous belly at 37-38 weeks pregnant. (Because my doctor(s) still don't know how far along I actually am.) I feel like a whale. I have even been tempted to visit my local beach, lay out on the sand, and then caption a picture on here saying "Beached Whale." But the temperature reached 100+ degrees this weekend so I settled on staying inside under the air conditioning and relaxing on the couch.
I did think I was in labor once this weekend.
It was Saturday. I fell off of my bed and had contractions all day long. (I prom...

KID FRIENDLY DESSERT RECIPE: TYE DYED CUPCAKES

Back in February for the Valentine's party that I threw for my boys, I was looking for a kid friendly dessert recipe that I could do with my boys. I came across several recipes online for a "rainbow cake" and I decided to do a little spin on the recipe and make them into Tye Dyed Cupcakes. These were really quick and easy to make and I'm positive that your children will love making them as much as they will love eating them. (I plan on doing some of these for the 4th of July as well.)
To get started with the Tye Dyed Cupcakes, you will need:

STANDING ON MY SOAPBOX: WHEN DID THE AMOUNT OF CHILDREN I HAVE BECOME YOUR BUSINESS

This post has been in the making for awhile now. I have inadvertently tried to avoid it, as I didn't want to make light of having what some deem as a "large" family. But now that I think of it, what is the "proper" definition of what a large family really is?
I am proud of my children, all four and a half of them.
When we go out in public, whether it's to restaurants, the movies, or just our regular grocery shopping trips, I always get compliments on how well behaved and mannerable they are. (Okay, this mostly applies to three of them as ...

A DAY IN MY LIFE – A TYPICAL SUNDAY (JUNE 6TH)

I have been wrestling back-and-forth on doing a "Day In My Life" post. I love reading them when I go to other people's blogs, so I decided to give it a shot on mine. I have to say that a lot of funny moments occur in my home that a picture just can't capture. By the time I get my camcorder out to record them, the funny moments have already passed. (I have jokingly thought about installing cameras in my home, because some of these moments are just to precious/funny NOT to share.) So here is what a typical day in my life looks like, with a few pi...

LOOKING BACK AND MOVING FORWARD {PLUS A NEW BELLY PICTURE}

For the past few weeks, I have been doing a lot of reflecting on my life. I have been thinking about decisions I have made, both good and bad. Things I wish I could have done differently if given the chance. I have been living life lately through a lot of "what ifs" and "I wish I would ofs." For anyone who has ever done that, that can create a lot of "sadness" (for a lack of better words) in your current life.
Living in the past instead of the present is really no way to live at all.
I know it's not healthy for me to do this. I know that th...
